Spacious one bedroom with dedicated dining room and small office space. Right downtown Dartmouth, directly on the edge of several parks (including off leash dog park) and seconds from the Halifax Harbour, minutes walk to the DT Halifax ferry, minutes drive from the Halifax bridge. Next to a major bus terminal, and a short walk to many shops/cafes/pubs/restaurants. Newly furnished with 400 thread count sheets. Prime TV and other Roku channels on the TV. Very old building well maintained.

The space
This space is an excellent home base for you to explore Downtown Dartmouth, Downtown Halifax, and the Halifax Harbour/waterfront! Or take a short drive to Eastern Harbour, or Lake Banook, or Shubie Park (which has a small beach and extensive forest trails as well as a great food service by Lemon Dogs) or visit one of the many ocean beaches not far out. Walk to the Wooden Monkey, an amazing restaurant in Alderney Landing with harbour views. Wander up Portland, or Ochterloney, or the streets in between for all kinds of tasty goodies, drinks, and local items to take home. Brightwood brewery and North Brewing. The Joseph Zatzman Sports Complex is literally across the street from the backyard.

(You might note the curtains need hemming and there isn’t a blanket on the bed in the pictures - I have hemmed the curtains and added temporary blankets on the bed, and hung a curtain on the closet, just waiting for my very funky nice custom duvet cover for the bed to be delivered in the mail then I will put updated pictures up.)

The apartment is privately yours, you only share the entry with two other apartments, although the tenants in the back tend to use their own entrance out back. Upstairs is another Bnb.

Off-street parking, you get the only parking space out front. There is a backyard but it’s shared with the back tenants. Who needs a backyard though when you are literally right on the edge of several different parks including an off-leash dog park that overlook the Halifax Harbour.

5 min walk to Alderney Landing which has a Farmers market with local fresh produce and crafts, and pay a cheap price to ride the ferry across the harbour which leaves you directly downtown Halifax on the waterfront/boardwalk - which is a great alternative to driving as parking in Halifax is near impossible.

You can hang out on the little front porch too, while it’s technically shared with the building, the back tenants tend to hang out only on their own little back porch, and the upstairs guests have their own little deck.

No bathtub, but a nice big tiled shower.

Now with a high chair for a little one!

Heavy duty black out curtains on the living room window and bedroom window.

Very sorry to say but the king sized bed the day bed pulls out into is a bit annoying to set up, but it is very nice to have it king sized! You have to pull out the trundle, clamp it onto the main part of the day bed, put the memory foam I have in the bedroom closet on, make the bed with the sheets provided (shelf in bedroom closet), and voila! If you don’t want to bother with the hassle just let me know and I can pre-make it up for you. And don’t worry about taking to back apart when you check out, I can manage that.

The house is old, the electrics are old. There are no kitchen counter plug ins, so I ran a heavy duty extension cord that runs ONE AT A TIME the microwave, toaster, or kettle. I also added 3 hanging lights to the kitchen, the switches to turn them off/on are there next to the fridge with the extension cord (you can see in the pictures). It’s not the fanciest solution to the problem, but it works for now.

I will be getting an electrician in at some point soon to run a cable down from the modem (it’s in the upstairs unit) so that you can plug directly into the internet at the desk if you need to, but for now it’s not available. Internet is available!! Just not a direct connection.

There IS laundry on site, the washing machine takes two loonies and the dryer is free - BUT keep in mind, we DO NOT UPKEEP the laundry room. The machines work and it’s great having them on site, but it IS a dark creepy basement.
