The space
We are a small family of four that used to work as tour guides before the pandemic. As we were realising that our jobs will be compromised for a good while we decided to move from the city to the beautiful and remote village of Paulesti, Bulzestii de Sus in Hunedoara county, the place where Bogdan‘s grandparets used to live.
There are 2 houses on the property. In one of them it is us that live and the second house was the original house of the family more that 200 years old. When we arrived here the older house was a ruin with the roof destroyed. We decided straight away to rebuild it. What you see today is a combination of old and new materials. We rebuilt it in a different manner, smaller and a bit taller but kept as much of the materials as possible.
The wooden floors and walls are more than 200 years old while all other materials are locally sourced.
Our wooden hut is a newly renovated and ideal for a couple or a small family. There is an open space downstairs with a wood burning stove for heating, a small kitchen area and the sleeping area is upstairs. There is also a small bathroom and an outside patio to enjoy the beautiful view and take in the silence and the singing of the birds.
