I enjoyed my stay at Casa del Sol. I am grateful to have called it home-base during my stay in Antigua. I used multiple different rooms throughout my stay because I didn't book consecutive nights and every room was just a homey as the next.

Fine place in Antigua! We stayed in room nr 3, clean and simple. The host there cleaned everything very often. Everyone keeps a little to themselves but thats fine. Overall fine hostel.

Great location. However be aware pictures are totally misleading. Place is not as pretty as it looks in the pictures. Noise around the house due to poorly placed wooden floors and doors is terrible. Water service will verly likely get cut during your stay. Rooms and beds are super small.

I arrived very late at night in Antigua but was relieved that check in was very simple and straightforward, I was able to get into my room and fall asleep. The room was very simple, with a bed and nightstand, dresser, table and chair but it was all I really needed. The natural light coming in the window was perfect every morning. The good: Bed was comfortable and I was provided an extra blanket for the cold nights. The place itself is very quaint and beautiful and you could very easily spend a rainy afternoon there enjoying the space. The kitchen had everything you would need including a separate cubby for your own food. The cleaning lady, Gladis, was extremely helpful and friendly. She was able to call a local lavanderia to come pick up my dirty clothes and brought them back within 2 hours for a pretty cheap price (6Q per pound). The location is perfectly away from all the busy streets but not far enough to not want to come back a couple times a day. I felt very safe there. The bad: The walls are very thin so I could practically hear what everyone was doing but I would imagine this would be anywhere in Antigua. The water cut off a couple times during my 2 week stay which was inconvenient but, again, this is an Antigua problem. No hot water for showers unfortunately but it wasn't freezing. Overall though, I would highly recommend this place for the price you're paying. It's such a great deal!

My name is Eric I live and work in ever enchanting Antigua, Guatemala. I do accounting/bookkeeping for Ilegal Mezcal. Mezcal is like tequila.. but WAY better. I also have a leather works company called Hide & Drink. Both you can find on the book of faces :-)

I take a 'less is more' stance to hotel/property management. I like my guest to feel like the house is theirs. That being said, please message me with any questions regarding the house or Antigua that might cross your mind.

Things to do in Antigua:
- You must visit Cafe No Se and try our world class Ilegal Mezcal.
- Earth Lodge is also a super chill avocado farm/hostel. Live music ever Sunday.
- Chocolate museum on 4th Calle. Can't remember what it's actually called but the chocolate is awesome!!
