Enjoy this Cozy getaway in a traditional style Shepherds Hut, named "The Feathers" just outside the village of Ahascragh in East Galway.
Watch our hens & ducks go about their daily life in their secure area in your own private garden.
Ideal for couples, Solo Travelers and anyone who loves the peace and tranquillity of the countryside
Beautiful local walks in Clonbrock and Mountbellew Woodlands only a short car ride away. The new 3km Greenway has recently opened a short distance away.
The space
The Shepherds Hut features a king size bed with a luxurious memory foam mattress, an electric stove, storage heating, an ensuite bathroom with electric shower, a compact kitchenette with microwave, toaster, kettle, cutlery, crockery and the outdoor kitchen has a gas BBQ and 2 ring hob, an outdoor fire pit.
The Shepherds hut is suitable for 2 adults.
Guest access
You will be given instructions where to access the key Lock box.
The Feathers is located at the back of our garden space, fully enclosed and private, with views into the ducks, hens and Winston our Cockerel who are fully enclosed in their own space.
As you sit and watch the outdoor fire in the chiminea you can admire the ruins of an old house which
is situated in the lush back field
Other things to note
"This is a self catering stay"
Nature Spirit Holistic Therapies are available to book through me, in a dedicated space on site during your stay.
The local village of Ahascragh and Ballyforan... has a shop. The nearest town of Ballinasloe provides many varieties of food options, Tesco, Lidl Aldi and SuperValu, if you prefer to do some food shopping and cook at the hut.
A smaller town of Mountbellew has a Chinese takeaway and Roma chipper, also a selections of bars.
There is a two ring electric portable hob (this is stored underneath the sink in the hut) It can also be plugged in the BBQ area and a gas BBQ is also available for you during your stay.
The Feathers does not have an oven

Ballyforan 7 km has a village shop including deli and hot food counter
The nearest town is Ballinasloe 17 km including Portiuncla Hospital, and many restaurants, bars, live music, takeaways and much more.
Athlone contains more larger brand shops and retail shopping centres, cinemas, bowling alley, and stunning cruises on the River Shannon.
Other historical towns such as Birr, Clonmacnoise, Strokestown and many more all within short distances.
We are centrally located to the main M6 Motorway, with easy access to drives along the Wild Atlantic Way.

The wonderful village of Ahascragh, home to the new Ahascragh Distillery, Coffee shop and Restaurant, 3 pubs and a real Irish community feel.
Traditional Irish music is pubs on select evenings.
Post Office and Church in the village as well as a fuel station with ATM, Butchers and local hardware store.
