Large second floor apartment with sea and village views, free wifi, parking, TV, Aircon, double and two single beds. Ensuite toilet and shower, fully equipped kitchen with oven, fridge and utensils, sharing a large terrace with one other apartment.

The space

Built about twenty years ago, Aposperitis rooms are well-established and surrounded by bougainvillea and olive trees. Tucked away in a quiet corner of Kiniand accessed by a narrow road, each room is decorated in a unique style, with many tradional Greek features. There are several attractive and shady outside spaces, where you can meet fellow guests, but each room or apartment also has its own private terrace. Free WiFi is available all around the building.

Guest access

These well-appointed and interestingly decorated rooms each have a double bed and two single beds, a well-equipped small kitchen with an oven, Fridge, TV, air-conditioning/heating, en-suite showers and toilets, solar-powered hot water and daily room service. There is a large secure parking area, if you have a car or bike.

Interaction with guests

The friendly resident owner will welcome you to his rooms, which he looks after personally. He is often around to share a coffee or glass of wine with you - sometimes, if he has caught fish, he may cook for you in the barbecue area, which has comfortable seating and is set amidst mediterranean flowers and herbs. Many visitors make return trips and have now become friends. Antonis, his wife and Flora; the manager, can help you get the most out of your stay, by advising you about things to do on Syros and helping to arrange car hire, boat trips and walks.

Other things to note

Syros is reached by international flight to Athens or Mykonos. It also has a small airport with a flight from Athens on most days. There are daily ferries to and from Mykonos - one hour or from Pireaus - 4 hours. We think you will agree that the unspoiled areas of Syros are worth the extra journey time. We will meet you at the port or airport if you tell us when you are arriving, at no extra cost.

The view and the terrace were amazing, couldn't ask for anything else. But they were also shared. It's close enough to the beach and a mini market. The buses that go to the city are convenient but there was little information about time tables and such. The room was nice but there were ants, spiders etc everywhere and nothing in the room to help with that. They took one passport for no obvious reason which didn't bother us but can be good to know. Location (view) and price made it a good choice.

We really enjoyed our stay at Antonis' apartments in Kini. The apartment itself was spacious and well equipped, with views over Kini and to the sea from the balcony. Antonis' assistant Flora was extremely helpful, meeting us from the ferry and arranging a boat trip along the coast. We were made to feel really welcome and would love to return.

Host - Aposperitis rooms on the island of Syros in the town of Kini is a family run business. Upon arrival we were greeted by members of the family who spoke a few words of English but very welcoming. Overall we interacted minimally with the hosts as this Airbnb is operated as a small hotel. If you desire a host who will provide privacy and uninterrupted relaxation this is the place to be! One of the members of the family does speak fair English if you desire advice or assistance with transportation. We were picked up by taxi in the port ( price and arrangements included in the room rental) and when we needed to go back to the port the family kindly offered to give us a free lift back to Hermoupolis in their personal vehicle. Home - The home is has the private dwelling of the family at the bottom level and has half a dozen rooms for rent spread out on multiple levels along the hill side. Stone floors, antiques, and balconies are plentiful. Comfortable bed and reliable wifi with fair speed. The home is better than the pictures! Although set a little way back from the beach on a hill we still had exceptional views of the town, harbour and surrounding stony hills. Negatives: locks are a bit rusty and were hard to turn to remove the room key and there was a moderate sewage smell coming from the drain in the bathroom. We would have appreciate a small map of the town or a few little information papers. Nevertheless everything in town is easy to find with a bit of exploration. Area - If you want gold, blue and white this is the town to visit! Remember Kini is on the opposite side of the island of the port. Life here is relaxed and casual. If you want to exclusively sit at a beachside cafe or restaurant sipping an expresso watching the waves this is the place to come. No specific archeological landmarks of significance nearby although hiking is possible. There are a handful of incredible restaurants to choose from. Our favourite being αλλού γυαλού (Roman font: alloú gyaloú) direct translation : Other Glass. Amazing Greek food, incredible view of the sunset, attentive service with all the little touches to make one feel as if you were at a world class restaurant. Lanterns were brought out at the moment the sun set and our receipt was given in a little origami paper boat. Walking - 5 minutes to the "mini market" to buy snacks, fruit, bread, water & drinks. 8 minutes to the beach/ restaurants and cafes. A small purchase of a drink is all that is necessary to have access to the beach.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Aposperitis. The apartment was clean, full of character and had a lovely balcony. Flora picked us up off the ferry at Ermoupolis and was helpful throughout our stay.

i like to enjoy and appreciate evry day. It's the simple things that count - to go fishing, swim, enjoy the company of friends. I have a small boat and explore the coast when it's calm. Now I'm retired from my day job.; I was a tiler and you will see many examples of my work in my apartments and around Syros, I like to do things with my hands - restore furniture, plant flowers and best of all to cook on the barbecue, food that I can share with friends. The best evenings finish with music and dancing.
