I would like to extend a warm welcome to anybody visiting California’s northern coast by offering you a pleasant and cozy place to rest your bones for a night or 2 or more. The Bird House cottage on Farting Cat Farm is available for short-term, mid-term, or long-term stays. We are on 1/2 acre in a rural neighborhood just outside of Eureka, just a hop skip and a jump to undeveloped coastline, rivers, beaches, forests, lagoons,.... for hiking, biking, kayaking, birding, or just being....

I'm a peace-loving nomadic birdnerd..... love to travel and love nature and wild birds. I do my best to live consciously and walk lightly upon the earth. My work typically involves environmental conservation, research, consulting, and education. Before the pandemic hit I was working as a naturalist guide in Alaska during the summers. During your stay
I live on the property with my farting cat Sami. He’s an indoor cat, but sometimes I let him in the yard on a leash. I’m here if you need me for anything, but I will respect your privacy and will work quietly behind the scenes. You may see me sitting on the deck, working in the garden or in my wood shop. Don’t be afraid to wave and keep on your way, or stop and chat if you’d like. If you’re interested, I can show you a secret path behind the house, through the forest to a nice Bay overlook. Text me anytime.
