Hosts are onsite and available to give suggestions and directions to trails, museums, pool, ski area, fishing spots, grocery stores, etc.
We live in a very quiet and safe neighborhood, close to trails (Mt. Roberts, Mt Juneau, Perseverance) and a 10 minute walk to the Governors Mansion, Alaska State Museum, Juneau Arts and Cultural Center, Capitol building and downtown restaurants and nightlife and Mt. Juneau Tram.
Juneau is a hub of cultural activities, including the award winning Perseverance Theatre, Juneau Symphony, Alaska State Folk Festival, Juneau Jazz and Classics Series, any many more. We pride ourselves on our national #1 rating of highest number of restaurants per capita.
The Capital City Transit bus stop is a 5 minute walk from the house and service is available every 15 minutes, 7 days/week. Routes will get you to Douglas Island and Sandy Beach, the airport, Mendenhall Mall, Nugget Mall, University of Alaska, Mendenhall Glacier and dozens of hiking/cross country ski trail heads.

Guests should take into consideration that steep stairs lead down from our main level to the Airbnb room in the basement. Also, please note that the ceiling is low, so travelers over 6'1" may hit their head on the supporting beams shown in the photos.There is a separate locked entrance to your floor, but guests are welcome to enter house from the front door/main floor.
The only rule that we have is that guests may not smoke in the house or on the property. Thank you for the consideration.

We are two adventurous women who have lived in Juneau, Alaska for 41 and 33 years respectively. Alaska is our home and we love to share the Greatland with visitors. We are empty nesters and enjoy hiking, cross country skiing, dog walks, and traveling.
