House rules
This place isn’t suitable for children under 12 and the host doesn’t allow pets, parties, or smoking.
It isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a Destination! Cute and comfy describes this cottage perfectly! With a private, screened porch your views of the Alpaca and the lake from the porch are guaranteed to warm your heart! Perfect for the couple looking for a quick and quiet getaway.

The space
Designed as a studio style cottage, this space offers comfortable bedding with a queen bed, and a seating area with a full sized leather sofa, glider rocker and large screen TV. The kitchenette includes an apartment size fridge, dishes and flatware, Microwave, toaster, coffee maker. However, there is no stove.

A word about the map showing this cabin set away from other 2–it is not. The three cabins are set side by side as shown in the photos. It is difficult to set a pin off the paved roads.

Guest access
Your cabin is private and you won’t need to share any part of it during your stay. Take walks along the driveways and the road. Some of the farm animals may come up to the fences to greet you!. While this cabin does not have a full kitchen, it does have an apartment size fridge, toaster, microwave and coffee maker, you also have access to an Old Smokey (BBQ PIT) or use one of the Park Style Grills in front of the cabins. There are picnic tables for your use as well.

You’re on a working farm, with lots of different animals, including our Livestock Guardian Dogs, who have access to the entire property. While they are people tolerant, even friendly, we do not allow them inside the cabins. That goes for the cats as well!

In addition to our livestock, dogs and cats, we also have abundant wildlife that occasionally cross or come near to the property. In most cases the dogs will deter them, but for your safely, we suggest that you watch where you walk, avoid walking off the main road and do not enter into any pen, paddock or pastures without one of us accompanying you.

Other things to note
The State Park at Lake Corpus Christi offers a safe place boat and swim. It has 2 boat launches and 3 piers, one is new. Be sure to reserve some time during your stay to visit the park. There are trails for hiking and bike riding, and lots of places to bird watch!

Please note that our dogs work mostly at night. This means you may hear them barking in spurts. This is their way of letting predators (coyotes, bobcat, cougar) know they are there and not to cross over their boundaries. If this is bothersome, we suggest that you set the HVAC unit to Constant Fan to crest white noise.

During certain times of the year you will see and hear tractors working in the fields that border our property. This may include harvesting, spraying of herbicides, insecticides or fertilizers. If you have any questions or concerns about these times please check with us before booking. We don’t have any control over what is happening with other property but we have a good idea of when we can expect things to occur.

Guests should be comfortable around large dogs. Our Livestock Guardian Dogs have access to the entire farm 24/7. Barking is a part of their job and this can be anytime day or night. If it becomes too much of a disturbance guests should let us know ASAP so that alternative arrangements can be implemented.

While we understand many of our guests prefer to travel with their beloved pets, this cabin is not pet-friendly. If you wish to bring your pet, please inquire about cabin #3.

The farm is located in a rural area across the road from the Lake. Our nearest neighbors are just under a quarter mile from us. Being rural, means we share some of our views with neighbors.

My husband, Mark, and I began raising alpacas for their fleece on our 5 acre tract in 2007. Since then we have acquired another 35 acres and began also raising Gulf Coast Sheep for their fleece. Our herd size ranges from 30-40 alpaca. We keep our sheep at 8-10. Our two grown kids help out with shearing and other big jobs. We are happy to share this beautiful spot with visitors to our ranch!
