The house is on a quiet street in a quiet town most noted in this part of Maryland for Nutters' Ice Cream Shop, the place to be at the end of the day.

This is not a rule, but some information that apparently I cannot enter on the Airbnb site. This site simply lists the beds, not the types or locations. The bedroom upstairs has a queen bed. On the landing upstairs are two pull out ottomans that are twin size. On the lower level there is a pull out queen sofa bed and a twin bed/chair and a half pull out. If you were to read our listing at Vacation Rentals by Owner, you would see the bed arrangement in these details. Recent guests did not have the full picture after reading the Airbnb description. Please let us know if you have any questions about the house before you decide to stay. Read the house guidelines that you find on the table. Be careful. Have a good time. Remember this old house is a non-smoking residence.

This is such a cute historic guest house! Perfect location to enjoy exploring the Antietam battlefield, Shepherdstown, WV, and within an easy drive of Gettysburg. Great communal spaces for families/friends to hang out together. We had 3 guests, and I think it might get a bit tight with any more than 4.

We enjoyed a good nights rest prior to a local bike outing. Vernell was great and very responsive on all communications. The house was exactly as described and met our needs perfectly.

Vernell and Tim have gone out of their way to provide their guests with all the comforts of home, including some breakfast supplies, local info, DVDs, games, and a well appointed place to stay. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to other travelers.

Vernell was good to deal with and prompt in communicating. We enjoyed our two nights in the house in Sharpsburg. The house has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The deck in the back yard was especially pleasant on the warm evenings.

Our first impressions of Antietam Guest House, especially inside, weren't great. It looked a bit jaded and rickety. However, after staying two nights we realised that that just added to its charm. We really liked the place. It was homely and comfortable and quirky in a good way. It seemed just right for what we were there to do which was to immerse ourselves in the Civil War history. The property is in a handy location for the Antietam battlefield and for the facilities of Sharpsburg (short walk) and Shepherdstown (short drive).

Your dogs are welcome. The charge is $10 per dog per night. There is no place to put this information on the pricing page. We love hosting bicyclists. We say rest and relax at Antietam Guest House. Park your bike and put up your feet. We usually do not meet our guests, and that can add to your true getting away feeling. When we do meet our guests, we have wonderful exchanges and new friends. Either way, we would love to have you stay at our house, other details at the Vacation Rentals by Owner site. Thanks for your time.
