All the right ingredients for a perfect county getaway for up to 2 adults and 2 (or 3) kids.

Fully equipped kitchen including all the gear you need to make a memorable meal (Pots, pans, coffee-maker, waffle-maker, citrus-juicer, toaster etc). Large 2nd floor loft space, one bath accessible on main floor. Bedroom has a queen and a double with a bonus fold-out sofa on main level. A cozy dining area and a larger lounge space in the back patio "greenhouse".

The space
This cozy "not-so-tiny" house pairs rustic farm style with a funky eclectic vibe. Art and character throughout, it's a "rustic bunkie"...but carefully cleaned and maintained with pride.
When the weather is above freezing, the terrace is a great place to hang out, and it feel quite spacious.

Close to all the best amenities of the County. Walk to the beach (Lake is 5 min walk down the road), Bike or drive to Sandbanks Provincial Park, (~5 min drive) Tour the vineyards, walk around Artsy/Foodie haven of Wellington, or Bloomfield, or head into Picton for all the necessities. Sample the local world class, farm fresh cuisine.

Local policy prohibits more than 2 adult guests per bedroom (Children under 10 years of age do not count towards the maximum occupancy.)
This means that the Modest Mermaid can accommodate up to 5 people, (2 ADULTS, and up to 3 kids...but honestly, that would feel a bit crowded)

This property has 2.5 acres, which is shared with "The Starboard" Farmhouse. They can be rented together for larger groups.

There is an opportunity to rent the barn separately on the property for events such as weddings, rehearsal dinners, birthday parties, family reunions, etc.

About those bugs.... out here in the county there are lots of critters, some are more welcome than others! Although we try our best to vacuum them out (and use pet safe pesticide) the reality is, we are located close to beautiful Mother Nature... and a few may find a way in.

The Modest Mermaid is about a 2 minute drive to Sandbanks Provincial Park, which has incredible sandy dunes and beaches, and towering limestone cliffs. Close to the Regent Theatre, a restored Edwardian opera house, that sits at the heart of the town of Picton on the Bay of Quinte (*Covid safe alternative: Mustang Drive in theatre!)
Be sure to make time for the incredible restaurants, and countless artisan food offerings from local cheese, honey, preserves, cider, and of course the wine!

We are directly across the road from Isaiah Tubbs Resort (Restaurant on the Knoll) and we are just a 3 minute walk down the road from the very delicious Sand and Pearl Restaurant.

2 minute walk to wakeboarding and tubing, but if "antique-ing" is more your speed- there are several options within a short bike or drive.
