Mt Moriah Yurt offers a unique off-grid experience on 20 acres of wooded private property just one hour from downtown Spokane. Sitting on a hillside with views of Loon Lake and Mt Spokane from the yurt deck, this is the perfect private escape. The sauna and heated outdoor shower allow you to fully unwind after hiking, spending time on the lake, or simply relaxing on the property. This is a unique, beautiful, and remote experience. The space
The yurt is mindfully equipped with all of the basic necessities. It has a well-stocked kitchen with a 3-burner propane camp stove for cooking. The kitchen sink has a water dispenser above it for your inside water needs. Next to the sink sits a large cooler (Yeti Tundra 75). We provide 15 gallons of fresh, potable tap water for kitchen, shower, etc.

True to the off-grid experience, we don't have indoor plumbing. We do have a bathroom inside with a composting toilet (no sink in the bathroom). There's also an outhouse (clean and odor free) if you'd prefer the more traditional experience.

The yurt sits on a large wrap-around deck with incredible views of the lake, mountains, and forest. On the yurt deck is a full-sized BBQ grill, bistro table with two chairs, and two Adironack chairs for hanging out. If it is rainy outside, there are two comfortable chairs inside to sit and listen to the rain on the yurt. There are also games and books for you to use.

Next to the yurt, the wood-fired sauna sits on its own deck. The sauna is a great way to relax and relieve stress. We supply firewood, matches, and fire starters for the sauna. Next to the sauna, there is an outdoor pump shower that is heated by propane. Towels are available for use.

There is a private campfire pit just a short walk from the yurt, with a picnic table by the campfire, making it the perfect spot to enjoy s'mores. There is plenty of cut wood by the campfire if you don't mind doing a bit of chopping (there is an axe available) or you can bring your own bundle.

As animal lovers and owners, we are dog-friendly but this must be pre-arranged/stated upon booking. Dogs are not allowed on the inside chairs and are not allowed to be left alone on the property at any time.

This is a rustic setting. There is no electricity or heat in the yurt. We provide ample bedding for the queen-sized bed to keep you warm. The yurt is cooled on the hot days by air flow through the three windows and the dome opening. Like camping, be aware that if it is intensely hot outside then it will stay warm inside. We also provide both battery-powered lights and solar lights for your use at night. No wifi here, although if you need to connect there is good cellphone reception on most of the property.

Mt. Moriah yurt is a great getaway but as it is off-grid, it takes a little extra work. If you are up for an adventure and enjoy getting back to basics, this experience may be for you.

Where you’ll be

Loon Lake, Washington, United States

Loon Lake is a small community with a restaurant, bar, coffee shop, pizza place, general store, and two marijuana dispensaries. The town of Loon Lake is about a 10 minute drive from the yurt.

There is beach access (with a fee) through Shore Acres Resort, which is just a couple miles away from the property. Shore Acres also has a small store and cafe and they rent kayaks, etc. There is also free public access to the lake that is about a 5 minute drive from the yurt. No swimming is allowed there, but this is where you can launch a boat.

There are miles of old logging roads within walking distance of the yurt.
