At Suite 43, Guest experience is the #1 PRIORITY. The space is intentionally designed as a quiet, comfortable space for your hosts to serve you while you enjoy the charm of Bristol and surrounding areas. The stylish studio apartment is just three minute's walk from the Bristol Harbor, the East Bay Bike Path, historic downtown, ferries to access the area, and more. Less than five minutes drive to Roger Williams University or Colt State Park; just between Newport and Providence (25min either way).

The space
The entire home was rebuilt in 2006, retaining the charm of its 1909 roots but bringing the quality to a level rarely seen in homes in this area. The Suite is nearly 500sqft of completely private space, made comfortable by a dedicated central air-conditioner/heater, and accessible via keyless and contactless check-in process. A luxurious memory foam king bed, 300 thread count sheets, a linen duvet, and Marriott down-alternative pillows will ensure you are rested for whatever awaits you in Bristol. An inflatable queen mattress topped with down alternative pad, luxurious sheets and a soft duvet create a second sleeping space for up to two additional guests. A completely custom kitchenette enables light cooking on a single electric burner, or allows you to enjoy leftovers from the nearby Bee Hive Cafe, Portside Tavern or any one of Bristol's fantastic restaurants. The dining table provides a place to play games, share a meal, or to take advantage of the 150mbps internet if work just can't wait. Indoor and outdoor seating provide a place to relax, read, watch a movie, drink a glass of wine, or enjoy a cup of complementary Nespresso VertuoLine coffee or espresso.

Guest access
Guests will have access to their own studio apartment with private entrances, and to the quiet backyard through their own patio.

Other things to note
Bristol is a quintessential New England town with a population of ~23,000 and a rich mix of cultures. Originally settled by the Pilgrims who left Massachusetts seeking religious freedom in Rhode Island, Bristol also attracted large populations from Italy and Portugal, especially the Azores. You will see the Italian and Portuguese influence in Bristol’s restaurants, grocery stores and churches. Important hallmarks of Rhode Island’s history of religious tolerance are the very first First Baptist Church in America (in Providence) as well as the first Jewish synagogue (in Newport).

Consistently named one of the prettiest and most charming towns in New England, Bristol prizes both its heritage and its warm, friendly culture. For a town of its size, Bristol is almost unique in its many historic and cultural attractions. Bristol was the site of the first battle of King Philip’s war in 1675, the rebellion by the Wampanoag Nation against settlers who bought land from King Philip’s late father, Sachem Massasoit.

Bristol holds the distinction of having the oldest, continuous Fourth of July Celebration in America. The Celebration, first held in 1785, was started by Bristolians who actually took part in the Revolutionary War. Bristol becomes arguably the most patriotic town in America during the three-week Celebration culminating in the gala Parade on Independence Day, enjoyed by more than 200,000 visitors from near and far.

Sailing and shipbuilding have played an important role in the life of Bristol since the 17th Century. The famous Herreshoff Manufacturing Company (1878) designed and built seven of the largest, most complex and powerful racing sloops the world has ever known. Of these, five were victorious in winning the prestigious America’s Cup. Today sailors from around the world come to Bristol to visit the America’s Cup Hall of Fame at the Herreshoff Marine Museum.

Also in Bristol is Blithewold Mansion, admired as an example of the Country Place Era and the Arts and Crafts movement in the country. Adjacent to the sweeping landscape of Colt State Park, Coggeshall Farm recreates the daily experience of tenant farmers in the 1790s. Roger Williams University, located at the southernmost tip of Bristol overlooking Mount Hope Bay, offers a full program of study including liberal arts, business, architecture and law. Linden Place Museum and the Bristol Art Museum are conveniently located in the historic downtown of Bristol near many of Rhode Island’s finest restaurants and shops. Bristol’s Maritime Welcome Center serves sailors and boaters who visit Bristol by boat.

Bristol has all the charm of Newport without all the crowds (except on July 4th!). Suite 43 is located just at the edge of the historic district, giving guests easy access without being in the middle of it all. Here, you can finish a day of beach-going or shopping with a glass of wine on your semi-private patio and hear nothing but the birds singing. Also, having to go only steps to the East Bay Bike path makes for a beautiful and relaxing evening walk. One of the things we love most is that the rear of the property--where your patio faces--is a dead end street comprised of families who have lived in their homes for decades. This provides a wonderfully peaceful and quiet experience that you can't get in the more transient parts of downtown Bristol, Newport, or elsewhere.
