Very well advertised. A quaint and tranquil home out in the woods, but with all the comforts of the 21st century, and just ten minutes from downtown Amherst. Fireplace, wrap around deck and friendly cat make a nice experience even better. Sophia was flexible and helped me out whe…
Sophia’s is a great spot for anyone who wants the comforts of seclusion while remaining close to Amherst. It’s a charming log cabin nestled in the Pelham woods with a lot of quaint, homey touches. She wasn’t around during our stay but provided ample communication about the house …
I liked the ornate woodwork and decorations all over the house. Sophie was very attentive. Mitza was an adorable cat. Five stars!

I appreciated your noticing the details around the house. Did you realize that many of the items, including ALL the plates around the kitchen walls, are from Hungary, my birthplace, and where I visited large family many times, including past 2 summers? And I'm especially delighted you loved Mitzika! TEN star guests!!!
Sophia was very welcoming--this is an airbnb place that feels like being a guest in someone's home. The house is in the woods--unfortunately we were there during very cold weather, so couldn't enjoy the deck and surroundings. We stayed in the upstairs room because it was warmer a…

As Naomi mentioned it was a very cold wknd - in fact our nights stay cold much longer into springtime than down in town, but the converse is that our summers are never too hot up here. Due to the cold, however, I offered the cozy and warmest guestroom in the house, which I use as last resort, since the downstairs "wing" with 2 separate rooms has sole use of the large full bath, and offers more privacy - also, the front entry feels separate from the main house. In winter, we kind of fly/sail at 1/2 mast... with life centered more around the cozy main chimney and radiant-heating woodstove! I do usually ask if the steps might be difficult and I'm sorry if I forgot this time. I can jack up the heat, and the beds are super warm with fleece sheets, lots of fleece blankets and down comforters. Off season living...Unless you love x-country skiing or snow hikes. Yes, I must join the digital computerized world and mount more photos, of which I have many. Thanks for the suggestion.
