Illora Farm is the perfect place to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of the real world. Relax when you stay at this quaint 1798 farmhouse. Perfect spot for morning walks, recreational activities, or just sitting and enjoying the picturesque fields, woodlands, and a pond (no swimming). Regular wildlife sightings. Private, end of road, yet only one mile from Interstate 89 access.

Skiing and tourist destinations e.g. Killington, Woodstock, Quechee, Dartmouth (NH) just 30 - 50 minutes away.

The space
There are two sections to the residence. The historic farmhouse end consists of a living room, dining room, piano room, bathroom w/walk in shower, one bedroom with a king size bed, one bedroom with a (small) full size bed, and a bedroom/office with two twin beds. The newer part of the house is where you will enter the residence and includes the kitchen, living area with tv and wood stove, bathroom w/tub shower, laundry room, and another bedroom upstairs (two twin mattresses pushed together but still very comfortable). In warmer months, sit in the rocking chairs on the porch to take in the beautiful setting, relax in the hammock, or play ping pong in the shed.

The farmhouse technically has 4 bedrooms and sleeps 8. But with two comfy couches in the old living room, and a floor mattress set up in the office or piano room, the house regularly accommodates more.

In summer months (not heated), guests can reserve the historic ski lodge on the property for an additional fee. The 1950s rustic lodge includes two additional bedrooms, a kitchenette, fireplace (to look at only), and 1.5 bathrooms. The lodge can accommodate an additional 4 guests - more if you want to bring your own mattresses. (See our other listing for more information)

Guest access
Guests will have access to the entire farmhouse, the shed with ping pong, and 100 private acres of outdoors to explore!

Location

Royalton, Vermont, United States

Royalton is a quaint town in the center of Vermont. Want a photo op? This is your place. It is equidistant to many tourist destinations, including Killington, Woodstock, and the Dartmouth-Sunapee region of New Hampshire. It is also only 30 minutes to the capital (Montpelier).

Guests can happily spend the week relaxing and exploring the 100 acre property. But, for those who wish to venture out, many activities are available a short drive away. In the summertime, try swimming or boating at Silver Lake State Park (15 min) or take a day trip to tour the Ben and Jerry's factory in Waterbury and continue on to Stowe (another 9 miles). The White River is another fun choice - only 3 miles away and perfect for a quick dip and world class fishing.

In the fall, drive the scenic routes to see the foliage, covered bridges, small rural towns, and historic buildings and churches. Multiple options for apple picking (30-60 mins). In the Winter, go skiing or snow tubing at Killington (45 minutes) or Suicide 6 (25 minutes). Ski lifts and gondolas run all year round!

Food, drink, and coffee can be found around the green in South Royalton (6 miles), as well as in the town of Bethel (3 miles). Gas station and convenience store 1 mile away---a nice walk when the weather is nice. Drive a little farther and find exceptional dining in every direction. The best craft breweries in the United States are a short drive away.

Hi! We are Alison and Chris. We are the on-site caretakers for this property! I, Alison, have been mowing the lawn here since I was about 12 years old. My parents live next door. Chris and I grew up in Royalton (high school sweethearts) and have lived at Ilora Farm for almost two years now. We love it and hope you choose to visit! If you have any questions about the area or Vermont in general, we will enthusiastically answer them! **This is a beautiful place of retreat to spend quality time with loved ones. No parties or drugs will be tolerated.**
