The space
The apartment is within the La Florida complex, in the old town in Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote. The entrance is just of the main road, between the Purple Turtle Pub and the "Superdino" shop.
Entry to the complex is granted by a secure keypad system, which is changed every month. As you enter, there are three buildings with a total of 73 apartments.
Just follow the pathway past the pool and go up one set of stairs. There is a hallway which takes you to the apartment. Access to the apartment is via a key box situated on the wall.
On entering there is a bright fresh hallway, and immediately on the right is the bedroom. There are two single beds of a generous size which are placed side by side to create a queen size comfortable bed and if needed can be easily split back into two single beds. Adequate storage space is provided with a wall wardrobe and bed side tables. There is also a safety deposit box within one of the cupboards.
Next on the right is the shower room / bathroom. Again, it is very bright, and the shower is an easy walk in experience and has a powerful flow. A new washing machine has been recently fitted in the bathroom.
The main living area has a kitchen space with all the utensils you need to prepare food if you chose to do so. The cooking area is provided with a fridge of adequate capacity, a microwave oven and a double plate electric cooking stove. A double basin sink and dry storage complete the set. There is a dining table and chairs which seats three persons.
There is a generous size stand alone fan to assist for the hot days, however as the bedroom is at the back of the apartment, on shade all day long, it generally remains fairly cool at night.
An Internet Wi-Fi connection is available in the apartment at no extra cost. The download speed is fairly good and allows movie streaming.
The flat screen TV is connected to the main complex TV satellite antenna. A satisfactory variety of Spanish EU and UK channels are piped in.
The living area leads out onto a good sized south facing balcony. There are two sunbeds provided along with padded covers for them. There is also a round table and two chairs which allows having a snack on the balcony. The balcony looks down onto the lovely big pool which is open all year round.

The apartment is in a complex of 73 apartments. It is very well maintained and very clean. My apartment is on the first floor, overlooking the pool. The complex is very quiet at night but very close to all the bars and restaurants, in fact the first pub is just outside the main gate (Purple Turtle).
There is a Superdino located immediately outside the complex, where you can get all your supplies. There is a fantastic fresh counter, and basically everything you could need for your stay.
The alcohol is cheaper here than it is in the duty free, so it saves you carrying bottles with you.
If you walk down to the crossroads which takes about three minutes, you are near enough in the centre of the old the town and all its restaurants and entertainment. There are also lovely bars overlooking the harbour, so you can sit and enjoy food and drink overlooking the water.
A further five minute walk takes you to the beginning of the main tourist strip.This consists of around three miles of bars, restaurants etc with something for everyone.Along the main strip runs the main beach which is stunning.
Everything is within easy walking distance, however if you wish to explore the island, car hire is very easy and cheap. There is no car park at the apartments, however there is on street parking nearby.
