Welcome to the Sol Shack. A place to slow down, unplug and take a deep breath out. A place to immerse yourself in nature and seek adventure at your own pace. A place for simple living and simple pleasures, located in the heart of the pristine Bay of Fires, Tasmania.

The Sol Shack is a small, simple dwelling filled with natural light and all that you’ll need for your stay. The Sol Shack is stylish and comfortable, but still a “shack” at heart.

The space
The Sol Shack is a cosy 1970’s beach shack, located in an elevated position on a large native bushy block.

The space comprises two bedrooms, both with lovely views of the tree canopy, the main with additional views through the treetops to the water. In true “shack” style, there are no doors to the bedrooms and the bathroom is accessed via the second bedroom.

There is an open plan kitchen, living, dining room with a wood heater for warmth. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, including an essential coffee machine!

There is a bathroom with shower and toilet. A laundry with washer and dryer is downstairs via external access.

The Sol Shack has a North facing deck, bathed in sunlight all day. The perfect spot to read a book on the sun-lounge, BBQ your catch of the day or indulge in an evening drink whilst you watch the sunset. The gardens are natural and bushy with plenty of nooks to hang the hammock and lots of trees for the kids to climb.

The Sol Shack is located in the heart of the Bay of Fires, on Tasmania’s East Coast. You may choose to walk along the famous Binalong Bay Main Beach with its squeaky white sand, explore the orange lichen-covered Granite rocks, find seclusion in one of the hidden coves, snorkel, surf, waterski or kayak in pristine waters or get your adrenaline pumping on the world-famous mountain bike trails. There is literally something for everyone here!

Binalong Bay is a remote beach-side community and as such there is no convenience store locally. Provisions can be sought at St. Helens, only a 10 minute drive away.

You will find the “Sol Shack Guidebook” on our shelves, it will provide you with inside knowledge of the area, ideas for your stay and directions to some of our favourite spots.
