A beautiful, fully renovated artists home above art studio in a historic building with past lives as a grocery store, deli, fire sprinkler business, mannequin repair shop with a brief stint as a brothel, and now an art studio.

My negatives are the highway and train, but I’m a great commute down 30 to PDX or over Cornelious pass to Tech sector. Long term (1+ mo) guests welcome.

Parking on street or off street next door with short walk.

The space
You have access to the original living quarters above the commercial grocery store built in the 30s when Highway 30 was just two lanes.

Living room has wood stove, shuffleboard table, and 65” tv with smart features only (no cable or live channels). Fast WiFi for Netflix, Hulu, Prime, and other Channels from LG library.

It’s cozy and comfortable and feels very safe despite proximity to highway and bar down the road.

Most transitional areas like the stairs, laundry, and hallways, have motion sensor lighting so you’re never in the dark unless you want to be.

Guest access
The living quarters have a private entrance along the left side of building. Enter at street level. Head up stairs and enjoy the entire spacious second floor.

Other things to note
I’ve mentioned it multiple times, but I like to set proper expectations. I’m on highway 30.

You’re welcome to park close to door right on street. Fast cars are driving by. Off street parking a short walk next door.

There will be road and train noise. We are all used to it and it does down considerable after 10.

The other item to note is that we are in the country. We spray often but elder bugs are active in fall and spring pre and post hibernation and love being warm as much as we do. They are not dangerous, but can be a concern to some guests.

There is a tavern down the street, but it’s not exactly family friendly. ;)

I’m 20 min to downtown or over the pass to shopping and restaurants in Tanasbourne.

The rock creek tavern is a great place to enjoy music, burgers, and brew in a fun environment.

St. John’s has a wide range of offerings. Tienda Santa Cruz for tacos to bars and food carts.

Head 10 min north to Scappoose for groceries and Fred Meyers or to St Johns for Safeway.

I'm an artist with a variety of "real" jobs. Most of these are in property management. I really enjoy making vacation and getaways and the occasional "save us while our house is being remodeled" possible.
During your stay
I love my guests! I do offer self check in with door codes so there’s no time you need to be here and no key to lose. I am often nearby at my studio.
