Set in 7 acres of magical woodland, beside an iron age fogou, and a mile from Lamorna Cove. Large double or twin rooms, en suite or with private bathroom. Relax in the lounge by the log fire in winter, or in the sun-filled conservatory or secluded garden in the summer. Challenge each other to a table tennis tournament, or watch a big screen movie in our new games room.

The space

The house was built in 1921, as home and studio for artists Benjamin and Isabelle Leder. Hidden away in private woodland and garden, it is reminiscent of a slower more pensive way of life. Off the beaten track, and yet close to both Penzance and St Ives, as well as some of the most beautiful sandy beaches and coves, it offers the perfect setting for either BnB or self-catering holidays.

Guest access

Rosemerryn can be rented on a whole house self-catering basis for 12 - 14 people. There are 4 double bedrooms, 2 twin rooms, 5 bathrooms, a large, spacious lounge, a conservatory and a big farmhouse kitchen. We have recently added a studio/games room, with table tennis and overhead projector for movies, which is also suitable for Yoga or workshops. There is a barbeque area in the garden and guests have access to the 7 acres of woodland.

Interaction with guests

We also live in the wood and are on hand to help with anything you need during your stay, but we allow you the space to relax and enjoy where you are.

Other things to note

There is off road parking for up to six cars at the house.

Rosemerryn is such a special place, it exceeded all expectations. The house is spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Lovely to lounge in the sunroom, snuggle up in front of the wood burner in the sitting-room or gather around the huge table in the kitchen. The games/yoga/film room was an added bonus - many ferocious games of pingpong enjoyed. And the fogou in the garden added an extra layer of interest. The house is set in beautiful grounds and you are within an easy stroll of Lamorna Cove and the coastal paths. Lots to do in the area too and the sun shone for the whole week! Wine and homemade cake on arrival was a very kind and much appreciated gesture too. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely week's holiday at Rosemerryn. The house is very characterful and the woodland setting lovely. It was perfect for our group of 10 including grandparents, grandchildren and some in between. Laura and Rob were very friendly and helpful.

Me and my friends had a fantastic stay at this beautiful cottage. We attended a wedding in the area but the cottage really made our weekend. It has everything you need and more especially if you like a table tennis tournament. Perfect for a family get together and groups of friends. The large kitchen is perfect for a big meal lovingly cooked on the aga. The rooms are large and really nicely done, there's plenty of room to relax in the huge living room or conservatory. Our favourite bit has to be the separate games room complete with table tennis table and projector. Quite private but close to Penzance, several beaches and local walks. I definitely plan to visit again with the family. The host's were great easy to communicate with and nearby if there is anything you need.

My reunion party of 8 old university friends came from places as far apart as the Isle of Man and North Suffolk. Every single one of us loved the house and location and had a fabulous time. All want to return. Laura and Rob were welcoming and generous and helpful.(Thanks for the cake and welcome bottle of wine) The rooms are amazingly spacious and beautifully and colourfully decorated with vintage furniture and all kinds of art works. There is a huge kitchen and lounge, really great bedrooms and bathrooms, charming conservatory and as for the studio in the garden-Well! Kicking back on bean bags watching Glastonbury projected about 8ft long on the wall. A fabulous venue for a large party sleeping 12 initially but with additional bed options for more. Our activities were based around visiting archaeological sites, Mazey Day and the Porthcurno Telegrpah Museum as well as a bit of geocaching and walking to the Wink. We thought the price was very acceptable for 4 nights shared between 9 (one could not make it at the last minute) The venue is more than suitable for older family members who can't manage stairs as there are 2 double bedrooms down stairs, (one with an en suite) and all downstairs rooms except the garden studio are accessible via wheelchair although it would not be hard to put a ramp up there I am sure. The house was built on top of an Iron Age defended 'round' and the fougou cuts across one of the ramparts. There is also a short cut on foot through the wood to the Lamorna turn. Within walking distance of the Merry Maidens, the Pipes and Tregiffian burial chamber. Note that the Londis in St Buryan is not open on Sundays so make sure you have enough bread and milk to save a trip back down to Newlyn or Penzance for more. Can't wait to find an excuse to get another large party together to book it again.

We're so glad you all enjoyed your stay. It was a pleasure to host you and we look forward to your return. I just wanted to mention that the Londis in St Buryan is open in the morning on Sundays. It is such a good store, I didn't want it to lose out.
