Our family really enjoyed a 2 night stay with Eleanor in her stunning home. The 4 bedrooms were so comfy and there were so many unexpected extras which was an absolute treat. Eleanor really made us feel so welcome and at home. We had the most delicious breakfast cooked for us…

A very unprofessional service, unprepared. Didn't provide a breakfast or lunch as agreed, I had to prepare breakfast myself as Eleanor was "caught up" in other things. Eleanor failed to provide a lunch we agreed upon also, saying "she doesn't normally do lunch" I explained that s…

The nastiness of this review has taken my breath away. It is grossly unfair and grossly inaccurate. My kitchen is never a mess. It is a working kitchen and I take pride in my home. The guest did of course have breakfast and so did his colleague and it is ridiculous that he said he did not get offered breakfast. My boyfriend wss welcoming and kind. The lads did not have a problem entering house. I let them in myself. I offered as usual to light the fire and they gave no indication of being dissatisfied. This is a nasty and spiteful review and I strongly disagree with it as I went to great trouble to accommodate the boys' dietary requirements, lack of graciousness and strangely aggressive behaviour. I tried my best and I put my hand up to getting the chicken option wrong! So in fact contrary to the guest's assessment I was professional throughout, and especially so (as not been mentioned by the guest) because they requested late check out so that they could sleep which in fact did not suit as I had another party arriving. I suggested to the guest that a country Bed & Breakfast was not the best fit for him, given his exacting demands. He also seemed to signally fail to understand the unwritten code of respect and courtesy that underlies the Air BnB modus vivendi. Not a happy experience.

Getting around

There is a Bus Eireann bus, the 133, which goes directly from Dublin to Ashford and also goes from Dublin Airport. It takes about an hour. I would strongly advise hiring a car as public transport ca…
