Our farmhouse sits on 15 acres in the country just 5 miles south of Waconda Lake (aka Glen Elder Reservoir). Guests will have access to one bedroom, bathroom, and the large living area in the basement with a separate entrance. The owners live upstairs, but we are pretty quiet. There is ample room to park small and large vehicles/boats during your stay. This is the ideal space for hunters, lake-goers, overflow visitors from out of town, or anyone coming to the area for a brief stay.

The space
The property gives ample opportunity for relaxing and viewing some of the best sunsets in Kansas. The rental living space boasts a large-screen 49-inch television with cable tv and a large selection of DVDs. Other amenities include a coffee maker, mini-refrigerator, microwave, various gym equipment, comfy couches and chairs, dining table, book nook, and a few toys and games.

There is no kitchen access with this rental, so only microwave cooking is allowed inside the space.

Guest access
Guests will have access to a private entrance, one bedroom, one bathroom, and the full living area in the basement. The remainder of the downstairs is the host's office/storage area that is blocked off for guest privacy. The patio at the back of the house is also available for guest use and there is a large grassy area for games like ladder golf, washers, frisbee, etc.
Guests may also request to use two kayaks on the lake (contact owners prior to booking if interested in this option).

Location

Glen Elder, Kansas, United States

Our home is located in the country about 5 miles south of Glen Elder; however, there is a lot to do in the area including hunting, fishing, boating, and sight-seeing. It's a short drive to the world's largest ball of twine in Cawker City and the geographical center of the US mainland is less than an hour away in Lebanon, Kansas. Beloit, Downs, and Osborne are also short drives where visitors can shop or dine. If interested in dirt track racing, check it out in Concordia or Belleville!

My husband grew up in the area and we were both craving space after living in the city too long; so we made the decision to move back here in 2014. We bought our little farm in 2015 and have been adding animals to it over the years. We currently have around 40 chickens, a small herd of cattle, 5 barn cats, and one India Blue peacock! If you want to experience the farm, play on the nearby lake, or partake in hunting deer, turkey, pheasant, etc., we would love for you to stay with us! But be careful, you might get roped into chores! :)
