Beautifully restored Pre-Famine cottage. Listed on The Financial Times as a tranquil escape from the bustle of modern life. Rural setting surrounded by lacy stone walls, secluded gardens, and still on the outskirts of the cultural city of Galway.

Guest access

Own entrance to private cottage on the site, with private garden and secure parking

Other things to note

As the cottage is a retreat place, we don't believe in providing Tv or Internet. Many of our guests were very pleasantly surprised of how much they have actually relaxed by spending time talking by the fire, play board games provided or simply reading. Trust us it works!

Had a great stay in this little gem. The smell of burning peat from the fire welcomed us when we arrived. Aileen is very welcoming and full of great local advice. Secluded location with very close proximity to Galway, I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone!

Beautiful cottage. Simply decorated but with everything you need to switch off from a busy daily life. We really loved this place-close to the city but feels like much further away. Fantastic!

I had a wonderful time in An Bunstop and will most certainly return. The feeling there is tranquil and the cottage is beautiful. Roman is a pleasure to deal with, efficient, pleasant and communicative. I wish you both a Happy Christmas!

We had a charming 3 night stay at An Bunstop. We found it just as described, the perfect place to relax & unwind. We're likely to be back, thanks for a great experience!

From being welcomed with freshly baked brown bread to having to leave two nights later this was a perfect stay. Deirdre is a great host, nothing is too much trouble. The house itself is amazing, really beautiful with a tangible sense of history. We will definitely be back! Thanks from Colm & Aisling

The most important thing for us is warm Irish hospitality which we have been complimented on many times. We are a family business and started our great adventure in 1990 when we first bought the property. All the cottages were ruins and we restored them very carefully throug…
