Breakfast
This is one of a few places in the area that has this feature.
Boutique 1840's home overlooking Beara island. Set on 5 acres of landscaped, wooded & walled gardens, small beach, river with waterfall, Finnish wood-burning sauna. 3km from the fishing village of Castletownbere, and its un-spoilt rugged beauty.

The space
We completely renovated the house in 1996- with a sensitivity to its history yet, combining the comforts of modern living, including underfloor heating. Standing in approximately five acres of landscaped garden and private woodland, an avenue of tall trees leads to the house, which is hidden from the road and perched on the water's edge.
You enter into the inner hall with fireplace, and piano . One is immediately struck by the rich simplicity of the design and décor. Limestone and wooden floors flow throughout.
To the right, is the kitchen, a wonderful large space with dining area and stunning views of the bay. The attention to detail extends even to the mirror backed Aga Cooker, which ensures that those with their backs to the window can still enjoy the view. The appliances, (including a dish washer, two small fridges and a separate freezer), . There is an electric hob, electric oven , Aga cooker, large belfast sink, and filtered drinking water sink.
Outside the kitchen is a small WC with sink

The atmosphere is one of informality - an ideal place for family and close friends.
Outdoors you can follow the path along the riverbank and find the waterfall where the house gets it's name.
There is also a wood burning Finnish Sauna, outdoor shower and direct access to the beach. A cast iron tub for a wood fired sea weed bath.
The house is on two floors, the ground floor includes the kitchen with the oak table that sits 12 people. The lobby with the piano and fireplace leads into The "white" room…which is an elegant sitting room/ library -this room leads into the television room with large kick back leather chairs
the Television has sky, multi-channel and dvd player (a good selection of dvd's available).
Laundry room with american size washer and dryer.
