This simple home is the place to go to unwind, turn off your phone, and breathe. Located down a dirt road and on our town’s world-class cross-country ski trail system, it is a 5m drive to the Craftsbury Outdoor Center and a 15m drive to Hill Farmstead/Jasper Hill Farm. This Airbnb is also close to many places to hike, kayak, downhill ski, and more. Not your style? There is a range of local artists, breweries, and restaurants nearby, including Lost Nation and Bread and Puppet.

With one wall of windows (it's a passive solar place!) and painted cement floors, the house is open-concept with a mudroom, kitchen, dining/living area, bedroom, and bathroom. There’s also a large deck outside, blueberry bushes to pick from, and acres to explore.

Craftsbury is well known for many reasons. Besides Hill Farmstead and the Outdoor Center, we are close to Pete’s Greens, Jasper Hill, Sterling College, and the Highland Center for the Arts. Although the town population hovers around 1000, we are proud to support a thriving K-12 school. In front of a picturesque common area, the school is surrounded by a post office, library, and church. A two-minute drive from the common takes you down into the village, where there are two general stores, a town hall, and a garage. It is truly a small, idyllic New England town.

Although I've worked in hospitality in the past (Basin Harbor, anyone?), I currently teach high school Spanish & French as I wrap up my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. I’ve lived in Ecuador and Senegal for an extended amount of time, while also spending time in New Zealand, Australia, India, Germany, France, England, Spain, and Iceland. While we genuinely enjoy meeting everyone who passes through, we also respect your privacy and won't stop unannounced. The larger house at the other end of the porch is rarely occupied. We will let you know before you make your reservation if the owners or their guests will be there during your stay. Otherwise, the property is yours!

If you're staying in the spring/summer, you may see a gardener or landscaper on the property in the later morning. If you’re staying in the winter and it snows more than 6”, someone will be along to plow and shovel by 9am.
