Architecturally designed backyard cottage located one mile south of the University of Oregon adjacent to Eugene's historic Masonic Cemetery. This contemporary Northwest space includes a spacious living area with a new king-sized bed, smart TV, WiFi, kitchen, bathroom with sauna, hot tub, and a spacious deck to enjoy beautiful sunsets. Located within walking distance to the University, coffee shops, Amazon Pool, and neighborhood stores. Enjoy dedicated parking and a beautiful setting.

The space
Our space is surrounded by a beautiful and peaceful garden in our backyard which includes maple trees, rhododendron, fuchsias, hydrangeas, ferns, and many other perennials. We also have raised vegetable beds in the backyard. We are happy for you to walk around our backyard and tour the garden which is in continuous process! I am making my best effort to provide guests with fresh garden flowers or other natural arrangements from our garden throughout the year.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire Doug Fir Cottage along with the upper deck, upper portion of the yard, and hot tub. There is a privacy screen in front of the hot tub.

Other things to note
PLEASE NOTE: We don't have an oven or stove, but we do have an induction heat plate for you to make small meals and pots/pans to match.

Also, due to the coronavirus, we are taking extra care to disinfect surfaces between reservations. We have increased our cleaning charge slightly due to the extra time and care. Our place is great for a staycation, a work-from-home alternative, or just a peaceful/relaxing overnight. Residential neighborhood located 1 mile south of the University of Oregon. We are located right next to the historic Masonic Cemetery which is park-like and has walking trails. You will often see people walking their dogs here. You may also see deer or wild turkeys there. We are a 5-10 walk from Amazon pool and park, coffee shops, one eatery, and a local organic food market which has a vegetarian hot and cold food bar. Also, there is a laundromat less than a mile (.8 mile) from our house and several others within 2 miles.

A little about me in a nutshell: work as a physical therapist in an orthopedic setting, married - no kids and one amazing labradoodle, love to garden, spend time outdoors, swim, cycle, go to the mountains to ski or hike, go to the ocean for beauty, peace, and to watch our doodle be the happiest dog in the world. Love to spend time with friends and family and enjoying meeting people from all walks of life. Enjoy traveling and adventures - getting ready to go to the Galapagos soon! My husband Dan/my cohost: We share many of the same interests listed above, but Dan is also a very avid reader. He was a ceramic artist for 20+ years, and now back in school studying couples and family counseling at the University of Oregon. His parents are from Germany and Dan is fluent in German. Dan spent some time studying his ceramics in Japan and is looking forward to going back some day. He is an alumni of the University of Puget Sound and Kent State, and soon to be U of O alumni!

During your stay
If you can let us know your approximate check-in and check-out time we'd greatly appreciate it. Dan and I both check our phones frequently when guests are staying for any questions that may arise. Communicating directly through the airbnb site is preferable, as the message will come to both of our emails and texts on our phones. Feel free to socialize as much as you'd like with our labradoodle, Eugie. If you prefer not to meet Eugie, please let us know and we will keep our dog door closed.
