Our Eco Pods are the perfect accommodation option for nature lovers, those looking for a quite and peaceful retreat or as a base from which to explore the region. Each pod can accommodate 4 adults or a family of 5 and contain a private kitchenette, shower and toilet. The pods also have a shared outdoor picnic area.
We are a community established group that also offers river activities and walking trails in the Blackwater River Valley. Find our more at blackwaterecotours.ie.

The space
The River Blackwater is designated a ‘Special Area of Conservation’ and is home to many species of birds including Kingfishers, Peregrine Falcons, Egrits and Herons, as well as other species including otters. Through conservation, community and education our aim is to promote environmental awareness and sustainability in this stunning hideaway of West Waterford.

Just a few minutes walk from your pod is Villierstown Quay and Boat House where you can explore the natural beauty of the Blackwater River. Options include a 90-minute guided tour on our tour boat or a self-drive option in which you can skipper one of our boats yourself. We offer scheduled tours and private tours. Whatever you group size or interests we can provide an itinerary to match.
You can also explore the river valley with our woodland walking trails, where there are extensive trails adjacent to the river and in nearby Dromana Woods.
