New! Long Term Stays Available!
From the moment you arrive, you can relax. Nestled in a quiet cuz-de-sac, this country cottage oozes with charm and comfort. In a mere 5 minutes, fabulous hiking and natural beauty surround you, or enjoy dining & shops in the quaint downtown. 30 min to Napa or SF. Note: 4 night minimum over holidays
The cottage is very unique because it is nestled in the coveted Marin County town of San Anselmo and feels far away from it all. Yet, in a mere 30 minutes you can be in San Francisco or Napa. The owner's house is also on the property, but the pool is reserved ONLY for you, the guest, while you are here. There is also a private patio, BBQ, and a dining table outside.
Feel like eating out? In a mere 5 minutes you can be immersed in the charm and cache of San Anselmo, famous for locally grown organic cuisine and unique shops. Take a stroll downtown or come back and refresh yourself with a swim. Sit next to the fire pit and warm your toes or just gaze at the plethora of stars here. This is a pretty magical place.
Please note: Your precious pets are welcome here, but there is a $85 cleaning fee per visit. All
Dogs must be accompanied by their owners at all times and be leashed or crated outside. Dogs MUST NOT be left alone on the property including the car, cottage or outside. I have a chihuahua mix and a cat, so please only bring pets that are friendly and well-trained.
Hiking/biking is just minutes away by foot or a 10 minute drive to Mt. Tam, home to many lakes and glorious views of the bay. For those of you that bring your furry friends, we have a great dog park within walking distance. (
For safety reasons, children under 5 years of age are not allowed on the property due to the large un-fenced pool and no lifeguard. Please note that children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult when using the pool, and any guests using the pool must be registered with Airbnb for liability reasons. Diane can assist with this upon arrival.
I interact with my guests as much as they desire. Need a recommendation for dinner? No problem. Hiking trail? Even better. This is a luscious area with tons of outdoor activities on Mt. Tam or nearby beaches and excellent dining and shopping too. You won't want to leave!!
The best thing about my neighborhood is that it has a "homey" feel, with friendly neighbors, a love of nature & animals, green living, organic foods, and close proximity to Mt. Tam and hiking trails. 10 min walk to local dog park/ Sorich Ridge hiking w/fantastic views or to local shopping center/park w/dining, ice cream, CVS, Safeway, etc. We even have a local working organic farm 4 blocks away that can be accessed upon request (seasonal).
If you are driving, I do have free parking available for up to 2 cars. Public transit is also easily accessible. Golden Gate Transit buses, which pick up 4 blocks from my house, run regularly. If you want to see SF, you can ride on the picturesque ferry that picks up from nearby Larkspur (15 min drive) or drive in. From the SF airport, you can take the Marin Airporter ($20, kids FREE), and then a taxi/Uber to my address. The Wine Country is best accessed by rental car or a tourist bus can be arranged that includes wine-tasting.
The cottage has a queen sized bed in one room and a double in the second, smaller bedroom. There is, however, a couch/sleeper in the living room, hence the cottage can sleep 5 or 6. A gas BBQ (propane is provided) and outdoor dining table is provided, and fans available for really hot days. Luckily, the cottage stays fairly cool and warm in the winter. Please note: The cottage is not (URL HIDDEN) is a remodeled pool house, so while it is perfectly clean and comfy, it is not a 5 star hotel! People come here for the quiet, the natural beauty, the green lifestyle and the location, as it is a perfect respite and centrally located between SF and Napa. Please make sure a remodeled pool house is what you are expecting...and not the Four Seasons.
For safety reasons, children under 5 years of age are not allowed on the property due to the large un-fenced pool and no lifeguard on duty. Please note that I love children and would love nothing more than to see their sweet faces in that water, but as a responsible host and parent, it is my job to minimize any harm that could potentially come to my guests. Thus, the rule must be enforced at all times. Upon arrival of my guests, I generally talk or email with them ahead of time to divulge the location of the "hide-a-key" and any other special instructions for access. ( Please note: A $75 pet fee is charged for one dog or cat, $120 for two)
If you are driving, I do have free parking available for up to 3 cars. Public transit is also easily accessible. Golden Gate Transit buses, which pick up 4 blocks from my house, run regularly. If you want to see SF, you can ride on the picturesque ferry that picks up from nearby Larkspur (15 min drive) or drive in. From the SF airport, you can take the Marin Airporter ($22, kids FREE), and then a taxi/Uber to my address. Everything in the cottage, as well as the washer/dryer in the garage is available to my guests. The outdoor pool area and private patio is reserved for guests also. Please note:
Guest access DOES NOT include the owner's side yard or backyard. This includes pets. Parking is available on the gravel parking pad and can usually accommodate 2 cars.
If you have friends who plan to visit, please give the names to Diane so we can add them to the reservation ( for liability reasons). You will not be charged extra. Again, no children under five can be in or around the pool, unless they aren't crawling yet!
Please try to keep the number of guests at 4 or less at any one time, as we need to be mindful of our neighbors in terms of parking and noise. The cottage can accommodate two cars on the gravel parking pad, but any further automobiles need to park on the street ( right side only as you leave the property). We appreciate your cooperation with these boundaries.
Interaction with guests
I always welcome my guests personally if I am here and try to provide as much helpful information as possible upfront. I encourage my guests to let me know of ANYTHING they need during their stay because my number one goal is their contentment. Texting is the best way to reach me, even next door!
Other things to note
I love living here and I have fantastic, friendly neighbors. We look out for each other so you may meet them on your visit, with a smile, of course. I am also an animal lover and have both a cat and dog who are well-trained and safe for children and elderly adults.
I would like my guests to maintain a peaceful environment while here. This is a serene setting, so quiet hours are maintained between 10pm and 8 am. No swimming during quiet hours and a Release of Liability must be signed for pool access. There is NO lifeguard available. All ages welcome, except for children under 5 due to proximity of pool. There is NO fence or hardcover on pool and diving board is used at your own risk. You will love it here...quiet and peaceful and very cozy...enjoy!

I am from Menlo Park, I like to run and work-out, read, hike, hang out in bookstores, garden. I am a psychologist working in my own practice in Kentfield. I am very easy going and mellow but warm and fun. I love Sausalito as I used to own a condo there and think it would be fun to revisit! I am a great tenant and very respectful of personal space. I would probably stay in my room a lot- love to read and meditate.
