A lot of love went into the renovation of our family's 19th century traditional Irish cottage. We invite you to stay the night and experience Ireland how it should be. Feel the cosy warmth of a traditional style Irish cottage whilst also enjoying the comfort of a more modern rural Ireland.
The Ireland West Farm Stay Cottage has its roots in 19th century rural Mayo. The cottages foundations predate the great famine of 1845.

The space
The Ireland West Farm Stay Cottage interior combines the intricacies and tradition of 19th century Ireland with the elegance, modernity and comfort sought after by the present day traveller. Stay in Ireland West Farm Stay and you are experiencing real rural Ireland with a modern twist.
The centrepiece of Ireland West Farm Stay is the hearth. Like Ireland of days gone by, the hearth is the heart of the cottage. Here is where you take time to relax around the fire, telling stories and singing songs of days gone by.
The stonework of the Ireland West Farm Stay cottage has been created masterfully by expert stone worker Eddie Joe Dooney. From the lintels to the hearth stones and to the stone facade, Ireland West Farm Stay exudes traditional Ireland through its ancient stone work.
Relax in comfort in the farm stay's cosy and unique bedrooms. The stone work interplays with the room decorations to give a mix of tradition and modernity.
With views of the surrounding countryside Ireland West Farmstay's kitchen area allows you dine in old style comfort.

Guest access
Feel free to check out the experiences available locally such as turf (peat) cutting or sheep herding demonstrations, blacksmith display in a nearby forge and cheese making at a local dairy. Each demonstration costs €40 for two people. There is also an option to hire traditional Irish musicians for an intimate 2 hour music session in front of an open fire in the heritage centre. Musicians charge €100 for the event. All experiences are entirely optional and you can find more information by clicking the link below.
