Where you’ll be

Eidfjord kommune, Vestland, Norway

My place is situated by a river (RIVER EIO) between a beautiful lake and the fjord of Eidfjord, located by the Hardangerfjord.

The HARDANGERFJORD is often referred to as the "QUEEN OF THE FJORDS" and this area is considered to be one of the loveliest in Norway with it's majestic fjord landscape.

THE NORWEGIAN CRUISE PORT EIDFJORD is one of the major cruise destinations in the country with 37 cruise ships to visit this year. One cruiseship may carry more than 2000 passengers, more than a double of the population of Eidfjord. These passengers in itself brings Eidfjord to life!

Though Eidfjord is just a small and peaceful village, it stands on the edge of huge scale attractions including the largest and highest mountain plateau (HARDANGERVIDDA) in Northern Europe and Norway's LARGEST NATIONAL PARK.

Eidfjord stands on the banks of the fjord, from which it takes its name, and has attractions of its own including a 14th CENTURY CHURCH and the largest collection of ancient graves in western Norway at its VIKING BURIAL PLACE.

A couple of miles away along the NATIONAL TOURIST ROUTE (6 minutes drive from my place) is the HARDANGERVIDDA NATURE CENTRE, which is an unusual adventure centre where there are excellent exhibitions of the rich natural, cultural and historical heritage of the region, an impressive panoramic film and a good restaurant.

Equally unusual is the TROLL TRAIN, which travels through the MABODALEN VALLEY (Canyon) to Norway's most famous waterfalls - VORINGSFOSSEN, which free falls nearly 500 feet. Of which both are also accessible by cars and a good hiking area.

I am a mother of 3 very active kids of ages 16 (girl), 9 (boy) and 4 (boy). They love outdoor sports specially cycling and join cycling competitions in other towns and cities in Norway. My husband taught them the passion in cycling and his love to explore in his bike.

The whole family also take great pleasure hosting and warmly welcoming our wonderful guests in our “home away from home" house in Eidfjord.

With years of hospitality background by profession, (husband and me are both nurses) we have decided to re-align our passions and experiences in order to pursue other things we also love to do, which is, to "entertain people from all walks of life".

Our travels has inspired us to open, not only our "hearts" but also "our home" to travellers who are looking for a place to stay, a bed to sleep and a kitchen to do their meals, in their own and with lots of privacy. I also think of trips the whole family had taken. I made it a point that whatever you’ve needed when you’re away from home is probably something you will find in my house.

My journey as a host has been nothing but extraordinary! It has become a passion of mine to make every guests' experience a comfortable one. Every meeting is a new friendship found. To this day, I still look forward to meeting new travelers, as well as welcoming back old friends.

My family has been living in Eidfjord for almost 12 years now and we just love the place! It's a very cozy neighbourhood. You get to know and chat with the local shop and boutique owners. Great bunch of people, friendly and welcoming!

Eidfjord is also a tourist destination by land (mountains and tourists spots) and by water (international cruise ships/boats) which is a bonus.

Hope you enjoy your stay as much as my previous guests did!

Welcome to Eidfjord!

Welcome to my "home away from home" and be my guest!

During your stay

I AM AVAILABLE if you have some concerns about your stay or you simply just want to chat, and I will gladly come anytime. ☺☺☺

I value and respects the privacy of my guests so expect a very limited interaction, that is, limited messages (up to none at all, depending on your requests) during your whole stay, (most specially NO surprise visits!)

But feel free to request a personal meeting if you are curious about your host. ☺☺☺

I live close by, and I'm available by chat on the airbnb app or by private phone 24/7 to make your stay as smooth as possible.

Generally, ASK IF YOU WONDER ABOUT ANYTHING, before, during or after your stay.

See you around! ☺☺☺
