A unique cottage mixing old and new, situated on a quiet lane and only five minutes walk from Fintra Beach, listed in the top 10 beaches in Ireland. A great space to relax beside the fire, cook and enjoy a glass of wine after a day enjoying the fabulous outdoors.

The space

Driftwood cottage started out life as stables for the Hamiliton estate. My husband and I have renovated the house while also adding a modern extension allowing the house to be the perfect blend of old and new.

During the day you can relax in the open kitchen and living area. Lighting the wood burning stove which is perfect in the winter or summer to create that cottage feel. The beach, Fintra Bay (listed in the top 10 beaches in Ireland) is a 5 min walk with further popular attractions such as Slieve League, Ardara and Glencolmcille all within driving distance. The quaint fishing village of Killybegs is just a 5 minute drive for groceries, restaurants and pubs.

While Driftwood cottage is a short drive away from a number of bustling towns it is placed on a tranquil country road. Allowing you in the evenings to surrender yourself to the pleasures of a big couch and an open fire (a bag of coal, sticks and fire lighters will be left ) in the living room.

Driftwood cottage is the most idyllic home in the rugged north west of BEAUTIFUL Donegal. We had such a relaxing stay in this charming, warm and spacious cottage. I highly recommend staying in here and would like to return in future.

We decided on a last minute getaway and sent a request to Roseann to stay that night! Sean & Roseann got in contact really quickly and organised to have the house ready for us by late afternoon. When we arrived the house was all ready for us, with both fires having been set and just needing to be lit. We had an extremely relaxing couple of days in this lovely house and spent most our time wandering the beautiful Fintragh beach (only a few minutes walk from the cottage). The cottage would be perfect for a family group or bunch of friends, but still had that cosy feeling that made it perfect for the two of us.

Driftwood cottage was lovely . Good mix of old and new . A lot of love was put into this house . Everything you would need for a holiday away . The fires were a lovely addition on nights when the weather was a bit inclement . Loved the kitchen most of all great charm and cosy . This house is situated near to everything . Beach is a walk away if you feel energetic but we drove as we had 3 children . Beach is fantastic and clean . Killybegs is only a few minutes by car . The clock tower pub is within walking distance if you fancy a drink . All in all we had a great time and loved this house . Hosts have thought this out in everything . Thank you Roseanne and Sonia who looked after us very well . Go ahead and book this place it's great .
