Off-grid, timber-framed land treehouse, perched above the creek in the woods, on a flower farm in the most beautiful place in the world.

The frame was originally built as a treehouse on a friend's property in New York. We deconstructed and relocated it to Stitchdown in the spring of 2018, where it is not in a tree, but perched on an embankment above the stream, so it feels like you're in a treehouse. It's 100% awesome.

The space
Stitchdown is a diversified flower farm and floristry where we grow and arrange flowers for market & events, and raise vegetables, pigs, maple syrup and cider for ourselves.

The treehouse has a queen bed, observation porch, fire pit for revelry and/or cooking, and outhouse with composting toilet.

The rental comes with a firewood bundle, which includes cord wood, shavings, kindling, paper, lighter, tongs and a cast iron pan, and the fire pit has a grill grate.

Guest access
The farm has 260 acres of woods and trails for hiking, 40 acres of pasture to explore, and stellar views of the valley.

Other things to note
The treehouse is an oasis. There is no electricity, running water, cell service or internet access. There are extreme cozy vibes, constant forest symphonies and gentle rustling breeze. Firewood and a basic cooking setup is provided for use in fire pit.

We provide an LED lantern and a device charger for your convenience. We do not supply power cords for charger.

The bathroom is an outhouse with composting toilet. We provide toilet paper and wood shavings, along with detailed instructions for usage. You must dump your own bucket at the end of your stay. There is an additional service fee of $30 if you don't. There is no shower available.

Parking is a 3-5 minute walk from the treehouse over slightly rolling pasture. You cannot drive up to the treehouse.

The fire pit has a grill grate, which is available for cooking. A firewood bundle is provided. The bundle includes cordwood, kindling, shavings, paper, lighter, and tongs. You cannot bring your own firewood unfortunately, as that's an excellent way to spread diseases. You can pick up your own charcoal from the store if that's more your speed, though.

As the treehouse lives in the woods, there are occasionally mosquitoes, depending on the time of day and year. You may want to bring your insect repellent of choice.

Even though we keep the path mown regularly, the walk across the pasture can be quite moist in the morning, and some spots can get muddy depending on rainfall. It is advisable to bring rubber boots or shoes that you don't mind getting wet.
