This hexagon hut is situated on its own on land that is half orchard half woodland, 5 Km from Westport. It gives a nice view over the natural environment with wild life and low key farming. A few goats and a few hens roam in the adjoining field.

Cuckoo's Nest is a charming, unusual, little treehouse. We had to shorten our stay due to illness, and the path to the cottage, the peat stove, and the separate bathroom might prove a problem for the elderly or infirm. It is a great spot for the young, the romantic, and the young at heart.

Irma is such a lovely woman! She gave us rides, eggs from her henns and a bread and fruit when we arrived at her place! The hexagon is the best place we have been to in this wonderful country!!! It is a beautiful home, especially to relax and take walks. We would absolutely recommend it and hope to visit it again! Thank you Irma!!!

We had a fantastic few nights at the Cuckoo Wood Hexagon. It's a lovely place, very relaxing. Irma was a great host leaving us lovely homemade bread, free range eggs from her own hens, organic milk and many other bits. She lit the fire for us and was very accommodating. Highly recommended for a relaxing stay! There are two gas rings to cook on, a fridge, and a lovely wood burning stove to heat the hexagon. Highly recommended - now just to book for next year!

Irma was a thoughtful, responsive, and welcoming host. We loved her little hideaway! Beautiful property, delicious bread, proximity to Westport - everything was just fantastic.

This is lovely peaceful place and if you get the weather it could be a little piece of heaven. The only thing to note is that there is no oven, just a 2 ring gas hob and a microwave grill so if you like to cook and are looking to dine at home in the evenings the amenities are limited. In bad weather the bathroom situated away from the main building is challenging. That being said the countryside is beautiful, it's pet friendly. Our parrots and dog had a great time. There are 2 beautiful cats that visit regularly too.

We enjoyed our 4-day stay at the Hexagon, which is secluded and out of usual tourists paths close to Westport. We were welcomed warmly by Ruth and shown around upon arrical. Irma's cats and goats did their best of welcoming us, too. Irma had made a bread for us and we enjoyed some of her chickens' eggs - really nice. The Hexagon is a beautiful little house for anyone looking to recharge and relax in this Western part of Ireland.

I am a happy person. I am retired, but extremely busy with all the things I love: minding my animals and garden, studying, playing music and painting.
