One bedroom apartment in a grand heritage residence exuding charm and comfort. Polished wood floors, soaring ceilings, gourmet kitchen. Minutes to Sydney Airport and 6 stops to the CBD by train, it sleeps two in a supremely comfortable king size bed.

The space

Wentworth and Gladstone, a pair of grand victorian terraces, were built in the 1880’s and today are heritage listed. A local landmark, they were built for rental to 'well to do' tenants. Gladstone, on the left, is now a single residence, while Wentworth, on the right, has been thoughtfully divided into apartments, four of which are rented as holiday accommodation. Recently renovated, Wentworth Two is one such apartment. It has been decorated in a warm and inviting way. The setting may be antique, but the apartment offers a fully equipped modern kitchen with microwave, gas cooktop, electric fan forced oven, and facilities including flat screen TV and Wifi. The bathroom, for your exclusive use, complete with tessellated tiles and washing machine, is off the hall. The french doors open onto the rear sandstone verandah and look out over the rear and private garden. And for newly arrived guests, breakfast on your first morning is 'on the house'. You will be brought a tray packed with freshly heated croissants, ground coffee or Twinings tea, hand squeezed orange juice and muesli - to give you a great start to your first day in Sydney.

Guest access

Guests will have access to secure off-street parking, a shared clothesline and a communal garden. But that is all that will be shared. Everything else on offer in Wentworth Two is for the exclusive use of you, the guest. This is not someone else's home. There are no locked cupboards, no one else's socks in the drawers - only yours!

Interaction with guests

During your stay I am generally going to be available to help with any queries that you might have. We live next door so we are never far away but the house Wentworth is completely separate from our house, Gladstone, and your apartment, Wentworth One, is completely self contained.

Other things to note

As the current owners of this grand old house, we see ourselves as its custodians and it is a joy to be able to share this wonderful building with the guests of Wentworth Two. Come and experience for yourself its generous proportions, the sense of space and its echoes of a grander, bygone time.

Anyone traveling to Sydney must not miss this place, And listen to history behind this house. It is a short drive to Sydney, or train to central.

This is the most wonderful, elegant place to stay. I wish we could have stayed longer. We chose this spot for its close proximity to the airport, but I would recommend it to anyone visiting Sydney as its close to public transport and a piece of paradise in the city. The bed is heavenly, the entire building is stunning, incredibly clean, and the hosts are very gracious and helpful. Breakfast was phenomenal and they even catered to our early morning departure time! 10/10 points and I will be back if I find myself in Sydney again. Thank you thank you!

Judy and Tony are immaculate hosts and this is an experience akin to going to an ACTUAL Bed and Breakfast, not just an Air BnB. Tony picked me up from the airport, waiting while I got through customs and delivered me to a fantastic, self-contained space with a luxurious shower which I soaked under after flying for hours. The bed was like a cloud incarnated, and there were thoughtful touches everywhere from the biscuits and coffee, to hair dresser and amenities, to tasteful and elegant furnishings. Tony and Judy are wonderful hosts who really care about people and it comes across. One of the best AirBnB experiences I've had in a long time. Do note that while it's very convenient to the airport it's pretty far from downtown but that's a minor drawback. Recommend the place highly.

This is my 2nd stay at Wentworth and it was just as magical. My room had a new addition bathroom which was perfect in every way. Wentworth is cosy, stylish, homely and always a memorable stay. Breakfast is always scrumptious and lovely to start the day with. Judy is a wonderful host and Wentworth has so much to offer. Hope to be back soon again. Truly recommend this stay to anyone.

I am 63, a wife, mother and grandmother. Apart from my family, my great joy - starting when I was a child - has been collecting treasures from yesteryear. I have haunted antique shops, auction houses, opportunity shops, markets and garage sales. And lived in houses to suit. We bought our first Victorian terrace, rundown and semi derelict 35 years ago and have since traded our way up to this wonderful property. Sometimes the idea of all white minimalism appeals but then I look at something and see its history, its story, its quality and it speaks to me. And any idea of all white minimalism flies out the window. I was into 'shabby chic' before the term was even coined. But I also like to mix and match, who wants to live in a museum? So our houses have always been homes first, houses second. With furnishings that are eclectic and welcoming. And the same applies to Wentworth and our holiday lets. Now for me the joy is in sharing with all the like minded people who have come and stayed at Wentworth and felt right at home, immediately. And who have done us the great honour of returning again and again. One day we too will travel but for now the pleasure lies in meeting the travellers from all parts of the world who have come to stay at Wentworth.
