Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
The Tiny House is on a brief vacation until Covid and the economy become a bit more predictable.

HOWEVER!!! We have added a new place to stay. Check out our new Airstream 22ft Bambi at:

Enjoy a bright, modern Tiny House on a unique historic farmstead with tons of natural beauty less than a mile from downtown & ASU campus. Relax by the fire pit, enjoy gardens, picnic table, charcoal grill, hammocks & critters. Fresh eggs coming soon!

The space
Lady Ranch is a relaxing and unique place to visit. There's nothing quite like it, especially so close to town (we are 1 mile from King St./ASU campus). Best of both worlds! It feels like your’e much farther from downtown, and you’re not.

Upon request, and before your arrival, I can message you a list of websites for local weather, booking a massage (in the Tiny House!) and my favorite locally owned food and drink spots.

***
Book ahead for graduations, ASU football/Schaefer Center/Turchin Center for Visual Art events

One of my goals is to connect my guests to our best local businesses/events. Boone, and the surrounding areas, are so very rich with small farms/breweries, innovative food sourcing, talented chefs/cooks/wait staff/bartenders, and a ton of community involvement.

I provide local products that include Hatchet Coffee and Blue Ridge Apiary honey.

RESTAURANTS:
-The Cardinal
-Hatchet Coffee
-CoBo
-Proper (fab sunday brunch!)
-Gamekeeper (!!!!)
-Appalachian Mountain Brewery
-Stick Boy Bakery & Stick Boy Kitchen

EVENTS:
-Watauga County Farmers Market (Saturdays)
-King Street Farmers Market (Tuesdays).
-Schaefer Center for the Performing Arts
-Turchin Center for the Visual Arts
-The Local and Boone Saloon for live music

Guest access
Fire pit, yard, sitting areas, grill, gardens and multiple parking spaces.

Other things to note
Directions to 1259 Poplar Grove Rd. Boone, NC.

From 105: Poplar Grove Rd (not Poplar Grove Rd South) T’s at a stoplight on 105. If you’re traveling on 105 South, turn left at the light. If traveling on 105 North, turn right. Lady Ranch is almost exactly 1 mile from where Poplar Grove begins.

From downtown Boone: Poplar Grove Rd. begins at the T of River and Water streets. At the T, River St becomes Poplar Grove Rd. Lady Ranch is almost exactly 1 mile from where Poplar Grove begins. It’s a curvy road going uphill. When it has flattened out, you will come upon a neighborhood on the right called Kalmia Acres and Kalmia Lane. Just ahead you will see a 90 degree left turn. There is another driveway in the middle of that curve on your left that is also marked with large white house numbers. This driveway takes you directly to the Tiny House. It is a tight turn into the driveway when coming from 105. I often go through the curve (my truck is big) and turn around at Kalmia Lane (right around the corner) and then make a left turn into the driveway.

I have 2 driveways, the other is directly across from Kalmia Lane. This driveway is marked with a small red sign with house numbers and goes to the front of the big house. This is where I usually park.

Please call me with any questions! 919-360-6740.

Hmmmmm... My son Otto and I run the Lady Ranch. I'm an energetic idea farmer, a mom, a nurse, an ice cream aficionado and a problem solver who loves critters and people's stories. Otto is a hardworking man as well as a chef, IT smartypants and the guy who will help you when you need it! I'm happiest puttering around in my garden, listening to music, my guest’s stories, singing and working on my perpetual house/land projects/gardens. I love the idea of meeting, and providing respite for old and new friends from anywhere... on Earth! How cool is that?!?
