My husband and I stayed here for the week of Septemb(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) and the weather was great. If you are looking for a traditional, tranquil spot then this is it. The views over the town from the garden and pool are spectacular. The house is very rural, so you will hear cows, dogs etc as you would normally expect from a location like this. The house is not furnished in a modern fashion, but you will not want for anything at all it's well kitted out including essentials such as washing powder, dishwasher tablets, pantry essentials such as salt, oil etc (it's amazing how many rentals do not provide these things). Adele and Jose gave us a lovely welcome and had even prepared a lovely lunch for us on arrival. The town does have a church with bells that ring every 15 minutes - there are those that could find this annoying, but it's actually quite quirky and during the day easy to get used to - at night, it's nothing that a pair of earplugs won't sort out. The nearest supermarket is an Intermarche in a neighbouring town about 10 minutes in the car which has an amazing fresh fish and meat counter. Thank you to Adele and Jose for their hospitality and for Sandra their daughter who oversaw all the administration, booking and follow up with us to make sure that we were comfortable.

We really loved out stay in this amazing house. It has everything you need and more. Loved the setting, the garden, the rooms. The lovely welcome we got when we arrived, and the meal that had been proposed for us was really welcome after a long journey. We're already talking about coming back next year.

Great hosts, offering help all through the holidays. They even prepared our dinner for our (late) arrival. Great house, peaceful and well situated for one day trips to very interesting locations (Lisbon, Caldas de Rainha, Sao Martinho do Porto, Obidos, Tomar). Great garden and pool. We are very happy to have selected this house. Totally recommended. We will be happy to be back.

We had a lovely week in the family holiday home of Sandra and Joao! We were 2 adults and 2 kids (2&4y) and it was perfect (could easily fit 4 extra persons :))! We loved the views, the authentic village, the Montejunto, the toys and off course the pool!! Day trips to the beaches were easy. Car is necessary tough. The authentic athmosphere of this old but beautiful house did it for us! Thank you very much Sandra!

This is an older style family home where you will feel very safe and comfortable and have a wonderful time. It is quite close to many attractions and has plenty of room and a lovely outdoor area. The local produce was outstanding and we had some fantastic BBQ's. The noise from barking dogs and the recorded church bells every 15 minutes is the only drawback, but easily cured with earplugs. If you want an authentic Portuguese experience in an uncrowded village, (with a personal welcome from the family that is beyond compare), this is the place for you!

We are a couple in love with the city of Lisbon, for its light, its colors and friendliness of the inhabitants. It is a very old and small town but we think it has a lot to offer. There are many beautiful, small and jagged streets that can hardly be seen at first sight. We know the neighbors by name and like to live in the city center and in typically traditional neighborhoods. In this part of the city you live as a local ("Lisboeta"), live on the esplanades and taste the traditional menus in every corner.
