A quirky and cosy converted horse truck on a traditional Irish farm in The Burren, Co Clare, just off the Wild Atlantic Way, near the Cliffs of Moher, The Aran Islands and Galway City. Sleeps 5 people comfortably, but can make room for a 6th person with a little bit of a juggle. Warm and bright inside. The Burren is a unique place where you can enjoy spectacular geology, archaeology, scenery, history and heritage and music traditions. Kilfenora is the home of ceili music, steeped in tradition

The space
Our cosy vintage horse truck has been permanently put to pasture and creatively and skillfully transformed into a unique and bespoke farm accommodation. In Ireland we call it 'Glamping' which is short for 'Glamorous Camping'. You get all the benefits of camping without any of the hardships. The Glamping Truck is comfortable and spacious - fully insulated with a wood burning stove and an electric shower and a flush toilet. Two double beds are snugly fit over the truck cabin and a handmade settle bed doubles up as a twin bed, while used as a couch during the day.

Where you’ll be

Kilfenora, Clare, Ireland

We are situated in The Burren and Cliffs of Moher Geopark, outside the village of Kilfenora and enjoy scenic and peaceful countryside. The Glamping Truck sits right at heart of the farm, a stone throw from the well preserved Iron Age, Tullagh Ringfort. The lack of light pollution allows you to star gaze and the darkness at night allows for a good nights sleep.
The Burren, sometimes referred to as the fertile rock, is a part of the Wild Atlantic Way on the west coast of Ireland. It has a unique flora where Alpine, Arctic and Mediterranean plants grow side by side and the largest and most accessible karst regions in the world, with stunning geological formations and archaeological remains. Situated on the edge of the Burren, amongst rich grasslands, we run a traditional, sustainable and eco friendly farm, using no fertilizers or pesticides where animal welfare is core. We are part of the Burren Ecotourism Network and the Burren and Cliffs of Moher Geopark. In 2016 we won the prestigious National Geographics 'World Leagcy Award' and in 2015 the EDEN award in Local Tourism and Gastronomy (European Destination of Excellence).

Stephen (my husband) and I live in the beautiful Burren, a Global UNESCO Geopark, which is a unique limestone area on the west coast of Ireland. We run a small sustainable farm with rare breed pigs, cows, donkeys, chickens, hens, a couple of dogs and a cat. We are surrounded by archaeological remains and rolling green hills. We love the peaceful and quiet area we live in and appreciate how lucky we are to be in a place which is so special. We have an iron age ring fort next to our farm and when out working in the garden and you pick up a funny shaped stone, you wonder - was this a prehistoric tool of some sort? Apart from living on the farm, we love meeting people from different cultures. Since we have to stay at home to look after all the animals, offering airbnb is a fantastic way of meeting interesting people from all over the world.
