Cozy and comfortable Arts & Crafts historic home in West Chester. We are close enough to town to get there easily, and far enough to enjoy some country peace and quiet. The space is ideal for groups or families, relaxing, playing games or making s'mores over the backyard firepit.

The space
Our home was built in the 1920s and retains much of the original details and charm. The first floor contains the kitchen complete w/dishwasher, electric stovetop/oven, kitchen island, and kids play kitchen if desired. Adjacent is the dining room with large bay window, the living room, and the den. The den can comfortably sleep extra people, and we have an air mattress upon request, the 1/2 bathroom is newly renovated and within the Den area.
The upstairs is reached by a main staircase in living room, or a second staircase in kitchen and contains 3 bedrooms. The master bedroom contains a king size bed, 2 dressers, and a bathroom with shower.
The first guest bedroom contains a queen sized bed and a retro 50s style bathroom w/full tub. The middle room is a large room containing a double bed and crib, and could potentially fit more small people on an air mattress. We also have a second pack and play if needed.

Guest access
The backyard is for your enjoyment and has a full patio, firepit, vegetable garden (if it's the right time of year), picnic table, charcoal grill, hammock, and kids slide.
There is also a front patio and large front yard to enjoy. The kitchen also has a deck attached with a table.

Thornbury is a historical district and has many amenities to enjoy. Goose Creek Park is less than 1/4 mile away, with a playground, creek, and walking path. There is a great local sculptor and artist studio in the old train station, and if you come at the right time of year, wild raspberries for the picking! http://activerain.com/blogsview/1177291/ken-kazanjian---westtown-station-gallery---hand-crafted-art-pottery
There is also a great little pizzeria called Goose Creek Pizzeria in the same park area.

A short 10-15 min away is the historical town of west chester, with many restaurants, the university, and shops. about 20 minutes from the house is Longwood Gardens, and the town of Kennett Square which also has some great shops, restaurants, and coffee, and pie shop! We are happy to provide recommendations and details for any visit.
other close sights: Tyler arboretum, ridley state park, Philadelphia, Stroud preserve, brandywine museum, brandywine river- tubing and kayaking, and more!

I'm a shoe designer and my husband is a "former" actor/writer and current software salesman. We have 2 girls, and we love to travel, explore, have adventures, make art, watch movies, and laugh. If you're visiting our house we hope to make it as comfy, easy, and fun as possible.
