The Old Salting Barn dates back to the 17th Century & forms part of a charming range of old farm buildings at Llandetty Hall Farm, situated in the heart of the stunningly beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park. The barn was extended and refurbished in the summer of 2020. Set in 15 acres of private pasture on the Mon Brec canal.

Please note that we are continuing our renovation works during the week and there will be a builder on site on Friday until 1pm and on Monday from 8am.

The space
You will enter The Old Salting Barn from the outside private seating area through your own front door. You will enter into the cosy and very characterful living space from which the bedroom and kitchen are accessed. The living space contains a sofa (becomes a three quarter double sofa bed for an extra guest), dining and TV area. The living area leads into the large bedroom which contains a very comfortable double bed, a double wardrobe, a chest of drawers, two bedside tables and two chairs. The living area also leads into the small but fully appointed kitchen area. The kitchen contains an oven, an induction hob, a fridge with small freezer, sink, microwave, toaster, kettle, ample storage and a full range of crockery, cooking and kitchen utensils. Also accessed directly from the living area is the large private shower room with toilet and wash hand basin. The barn was converted from what was once the salting room of the farm complex and retains lots of historic features including exposed stone walls, beams and a stone floor. There are three lovely gothic arched windows which give far reaching views over the surrounding private fields and the National Park beyond.

Guest access
The Salting Barn is located at the South end of the historic Grade II listed range of farm buildings adjacent to the main farmhouse. It is separated from the house by an external seating area with table and chairs which are for guest use. The barn is entirely self contained with its own front door. In front of the barn is a private seating area within the farm courtyard. The farm is situated within 15 acres of private pasture with the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal running through the land. Guests are free to explore the surrounding private fields and use the private and direct access onto the canal towpath situated just behind the barn complex. Small well behaved dogs are welcomed.

Other things to note
Please note that we are continuing our renovation works during the week and there will be a builder on site on Friday until 1pm and on Monday from 8am.

The annexe is fully self catered and perfectly sized for two people. There is a sofa bed in the living space so we can accommodate up to four people (3 adults or two adults and two children) if required. Please note however that the living space and the kitchen area are compact so four adults would be a tight squeeze. Also note that the shower room is accessed off the living space where the sofa bed is located.
