Oh where do I begin...When we were looking for a place to stay in Shannon, we knew we wanted to find that special "jewel" as a means to divert ourselves from our norm back at home and be as close to nature as possible. What we didn't know was that we were gonna find the best place we had ever experienced in every way. From the moment we walked through the door and found a colorful welcome note from the family all the way to the incredible scent in the air in every room...every detail reminded us of a serenity spa or wellness retreat. Your vacation becomes complete once you immerse yourself in this calming setting. It was all so perfectly clean and welcoming. You're in for a wonderful stay! We got in early afternoon (and were so hungry after driving around and indulging the beautiful country and scenery) and before we could decide on a nearby place to eat, we saw that they had left us some bread, cheese, jams and other food items in the fridge to tide us over. Tom and Rosie are so easy to communicate with, they are incredibly helpful and willing to offer suggestions of places to go and where to eat. They even have an album especially created for guests to look at with information on pretty much everything you can do near or far... Their beautiful home is located about 10-15 mins drive away from the nearest restaurant, shops, pubs, convenience stores, gas stations. Another highlight of their place is the king size bed with an amazing mattress, comforter and pillows, although they have other full/ queen sized beds available for bigger parties as well. You're guaranteed a perfect night's rest. The shower was another experience in itself with multiple settings sure to relax any exhausted traveler after a day's worth of exploration. Their place is easy to find, Tom gave us the coordinates and very detailed information on how to get there from the Shannon airport, in case we didn't have a gps. Whether you're a couple on a special getaway or just simply want to treat yourself or even a family on a road trip...their home creates the beginning of the experience for you!!! Thank you Tom, Rosie and Adam...you're the best!

This is a lovely secluded place (car recommended) that is comfortable, well equipped, with spotlessly clean beds, kitchen and bathrooms. The main bedroom has a 6ft wide bed, ideal for us. They left basics for us - butter milk eggs juices etc - which was very helpful. We were at a wedding so our own separate entrance for the inevitable late night return one night meant we did not have to worry about disturbing them. Check-in and check out were very easy and times accommodating to our needs. The apartment is child friendly, and spacious. One of the bedrooms is accessed through the main bedroom, as is the shower room, which was not an issue for us (just a couple) and would not be so for a family. Three separate couples might find it interesting, but doubtless could manage. The area is lovely, I would love to live near Killaloe with lots of local walks, and of course the Lough. This is really one of the best airBNBs we have ever stayed in. The hosts are lovely people, very welcoming, very chatty, but also happy to just let their guests get on with it. A perfect balance. I would have no hesitation staying here again or recommending it to any family or friends (or other airBNB users...) Thank you both for a wonderful stay Jo

From booking to leaving, our hosts, Tom and Rosie were a class act. Tom had a wealth of historical information and both gave us many suggestions for siteseeing and food. Upon arrival, we were welcomed into their home for tea, coffee and cake while chatting and giving us more information on our location. The view from their place was stunningly beautiful. Waking up in the country with a view of the lake and cows in the distance was just what we craved. We stayed for 4 nights and had plenty to do. The location is great for day trips to Ring of Kerry, Galway, Rock of Cashel, Doolin Cave and others. There were 4 of us and we had plenty of room. Beds were comfortable and there where many staple items made available to us. Would definitely stay there again on another visit.

We were very spoiled with Tom and Rosie's place. Firstly they were both very welcoming hosts and greeted us with tea and cake! (The gluten free cake was amazing) The property is lovely-dedicated parking space (you def need a car here), lovely view of the lake and plenty of greenery. The accommodation itself far exceeded our expectations-firstly it was very spacious-with plenty of private sleeping space-there were only two of us, but a family would be quite comfortable in the space. The beds were SO comfortable and it was nice having separate sleeping quarters and two bathrooms. Not to mention how well appointed and cozy it was-we really felt like were were in a home and not a sterile hotel type environment. There was everything we needed in the kitchen, bathrooms, etc. and lots of information on local activities and things to do. On top of all of this, we were very spoiled with a stocked fridge full of breakfast supplies and more. This was so welcome especially after a long flight-I couldn't have imagined grocery shopping after a full day of travel. It was definitely above and beyond what I expected and what I have experienced in other Airbnb accommodations. Killaloe is a lovely town-there is a great pizza place (thanks Tom for the recommendation) and other cute restaurants, and a good grocery store to pick up supplies. We found that it was a great base for day trips to Cliffs of Moher, Limerick, Galway, and The Burren National Park. Both Tom and Rosie were very accommodating, friendly and at our disposal if we had questions. Tom also has a great handle on local history and is happy to share if you haven't done your research before traveling! Highly recommend this as a place to stay-definitely worth every penny!

Our host Tom was amazing with the most thorough directions to the house and great communication at all steps. And Rosie, our hostess, was such a delight! Rosie had tea and cake ready for us and was so fun and easy to hang out with; she even offered to drive us to and pick us up from the local pub. We feel like we made a new friend in Rosie.
