Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Large modern annex situated within the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Fabulous views front and back to the hills and across the Somerset Levels. Great base for exploring Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole, Wells, Priddy and much more with walking trails starting at the house.
Ideal Studio for quiet work, for couples on a break, and young families.
Large Bathroom, balconies, studio kitchenette, king sized bed, 2 optional large sofa beds and parking. Continental breakfast included.

The space
Your own private annex, with your own private entrance. There is lots of space. Two very large rooms, and one bathroom. The bedroom has a king sized bed, a large office desk, and a sofa bed. The living room has two sofas, one of which is a sofabed, a kitchenette supplied with all you need for cooking, and a dining area. Apart from the spectacular views day and night which we never tire of looking at, you can enjoy watching and visiting our smallholding with our sheep and chickens in our fields behind the property which are part of the Area of Outstanding Natural Beaty of the Mendip Hills. It is an idyllic tranquil setting where you can hear the owls at night and the birds in the morning. We pride ourselves with beautiful furniture and tasteful decoration. We aim to provide everything you could possibly need. There is plenty of parking space.

Guest access
The annex has its own private entrance. Although a second floor space it has flat access across a bridge and offers commanding views through the large windows. As well as the Annex there is a small gym available for use at any time and access to a laundry room can be made available on request. The annex sits above a rarely active garage space and a little used living area of the main house.

Other things to note
We have a dog and cat as well as sheep and chickens. Ask if you'd like some fresh eggs or if you'd like to hug a sheep! We rent out quality bikes to explore the hills and the Somerset Levels.

Location

Cheddar, United Kingdom

The Mendip hills have lots to offer, and Draycott is an ideal base between Cheddar and Wookey Hole and only 6 miles from the cathedral City of Wells. The village has a small shop and post office. Three pubs are available within easy walking distance!...a rare treat for an otherwise isolated location, and many more are accessible by a short bike ride. Lots of good hiking including a 1 to 2 hour walk to Cheddar Gorge or a 15 minute bike ride (to the base!)

Nick is a 'hobby' farmer with a real job as an exploration geologist. His other hobbies are caving, hiking, a love of nature and the natural landscape. He has a problem with purchasing Arts and Crafts style furniture. Sofia is the home maker, gardener and housekeeper. With her Mexican roots she loves to cook and enjoys a party every now and again. We have two children but both are rarely home these days as they now live away. As a family we spent 6 years living in Mexico and 6 years living in Peru. We loved our time together in Peru.

During your stay
We are happy to show you around our active smallholding and introduce you to the chickens and Eric the sheep. Dexter our collie dog would be over the moon if you take him for a walk and will, maybe, help guide you around the local footpaths. Just ask.
