Historical origins of Marys cosy cottage.
This is an original one-bedroom cottage with an open plan living area dating back to the early nineteenth century approximately. There are no actual records to its origins except that it was belonging to Padraig Watt’s Md Donagh’s parents. Padraig travelled over to America in search of fame and fortune and returned in the mid 1930’s to build the two-story house with the help of family and friends at the back of the cottage.

My husband and I bought Padraig Watt’s two story house and the cottage in the early 1990’s and spent many happy holidays there with our young family. The children loved to play in the cottage which was almost derelict at that time. Gradually we restored it and insulated it for warmth and comfort utilising eco friendly materials whenever we could. The work was completed in December 2018.

Two years ago we rented out Padraig Watts two story house with Airbnb and was awarded a Superhost status with overall 5-star rating and 100% response rate (awarded January 11th, 2019). We will not be renting Padraig’s Watts house this year, instead we intend to stay in it and be there for our guests to help them settle in.

This cottage is situated in the middle of the countryside surrounded by green fields where the donkeys, horses and cows sit and eat the wild upkept grass.
An Tigh Padraig Watt and its cottage is surrounded by winding country roads which hidden natural sea inlets .
The famous coral strand ' Tra An Doilin' and the village of Carraroe with local pubs, restaurants and shops are both only a short walk away.
Tra an Doilin is part of the ' Wild Atlantic Way and in the village of Carraroe you will hear the people speaking Irish as it is in the the heart of the gaeltacht region of Ireland.
