Island Life! Come stay in your own large private queen bedroom with private bath inside our waterfront upscale duplex in the charming town of Indian Rocks Beach. A FL vacation awaits you, just 2 easy short blocks to the beach, with chairs & beach towels here to use. Relax on the balcony or breezy boat dock overlooking the intracoastal. Or explore IRB by foot, car, or borrow bikes with many restaurants, bars, parks, and shops walking distance. Perfect for a solo or couple, or even a 3rd person.
Your queen bedroom and bath are private, and rest of the house is shared with us. Your bedroom is very large with high ceilings, a ceiling fan, 35" TV with cable, and a Queen bed with Simmons Beautyrest comfy mattress that guests have raved about. Your private bathroom with shower is connected directly from the bedroom, with basic toiletries, hair dryer, towels provided. Bedroom is on the 2nd floor, so walking up stairs is required. This area of the house is extremely quiet and comfortable; your door locks from the inside. The WiFi and the A/C works great and we keep it cool. Laundry room is across the hall and you are welcome to use it. There is an option for a twin or queen air mattress upon request, that will just fit in the room.
Your room has full coffee and tea setup. Also help yourself to 1-2 bottled waters in the fridge in garage.
The house is a huge duplex, upscale, completely updated and modern, more spacious than most properties in this area, with oversize rooms and high ceilings and tons of light and water views. It's directly on the Intracoastal with a boat and fishing dock and island breeze. We see dolphins all the time here! Just 2 short blocks to the beach, 2 min walk. You're welcome to use beach chairs, umbrella, towels, a cooler, and a wagon to tote it. You may borrow the 2 bikes if you'd like.
There should be street parking in front of mailbox or other side of street. If not, let us know and we'll make room for your car on left side of our double driveway.
We're happy to be flexible with check-in and check-out times, just ask. We'll give you a code for the door for access.
All common areas are shared with us: John, Julie, and our daughter; we do not have any pets. Feel free to watch for dolphins sitting on the balcony and dock, or relax in the hammock. There is space in the fridge if needed; you may use the kitchen for light prep; if you want to cook a full meal or use the gas grill outside, please check with us for availability as we occasionally cook as well. You are welcome to use any of the living room, dining room, and kitchen as needed. The house is very large at 2400sf, there's room for all of us!
Interaction with guests
We're AirBnB travelers ourselves, so we understand that some guests prefer solitude and others like to socialize. One of the things I love about staying in someone's home myself is getting real tips and advice about the area. We love meeting people from all over the world, and love sharing our slice of paradise with you. Our lifestyle varies: if we're home, we're typically in the living room, balcony, or bedroom working from home; our daughter is typically in her room. We occasionally will have friends around, but overall we have a quiet lifestyle. If we're out, we'll still be available via call or text 24/7.
- Smoking on balcony is ok if sliders are closed.
- Please keep common areas clean after use.
- No additional visitors allowed in home, very strict.
- Please don't use ice from our fridge for coolers; buy at store around the corner
- Check in after 3pm. Often flexible so just ask.
- Check out 11am. Often flexible so just ask.
- Fairly suitable for kids, but there are some breakables and in general, is not Toddler-Proofed for safety/cabinets/outlets/chemicals. You know your kids, use your best judgment. We are pretty tolerant of typical 'kid noise' but if you are in common areas and they are out of control while we're working, we'd appreciate you move to another area.
-No daily maid or linen service.
I'm a Florida native and John's from Long Island, via Maryland. We live here on the island with his daughter. We love to travel and have been all around the US, and Italy, France, England, Spain, Cuba, Panama, Mexico, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Australia. We've been AirBnB guests ourselves and love hearing the stories from visitors and their lives. We also love boating, playing games, good food, festivals, and live music.
