This peaceful country cottage sits atop a hill with a lovely view overlooking Mount Leinster and a patchwork of fields. It sleeps 3 adults comfortably, or 2 adults and 2 children. There's plenty of outdoor space and ancient woodland to roam and explore, cycle, walk or jog. And we're in a great location for touring the South-East (Carlow, Kilkenny, Waterford, Wexford, Wicklow and Dublin).

We welcome longer stays, so give discounts of up to 35% for weekly bookings and 65% for monthly bookings.

The space
Paddy's Cottage is sought by guests looking for the head-space to get creative work done, and by individuals and families seeking a restful holiday close to a wealth of local places to visit.

The cottage is comfortable and fully furnished. We provide some breakfast basics and firewood to get you started. A covered patio nestled into the granite-walled garden at the back offers private al fresco dining. Shower and full bath (with sky views) and good quality bed and bath linen assure a restful stay.

Our guests have been enchanted by the surrounding nature. Rolling fields, ancient woodland by the River Slaney, and the leafy lanes encourage walking, jogging and cycling in the fresh, sweet country air.

Our rural landscape provides shelter to all kinds of wildlife, and sometimes farm animals too (usually sheep, sometimes ponies). We do not use any chemical sprays in the garden. Despite thorough cleaning, it is possible that a harmless bug or spider may find it's way in. Feel free to ask us if ever you need help in this regard.

Welcome to Ballin Temple. We have been running the Ballin Temple estate organically since 1999, and we hope our guests love the place for what it is: an increasingly rare clean-air, clean-water (our cottages have their own artesian wells, and the water tastes wonderful) place to potter around and relax. Writers, teachers, artists, families, entrepreneurs and executives all seem to revel in the "slow holiday" aspect of the place. As an Airbnb guest myself, I know how important it is to create a home away from home for our guests, and make every effort to create a comfortable and practical space.
