Our little eco-cabin is nestled at the edge of our farm property, right by a beautiful old-growth forest. Totally off-grid, this cabin has all the makings of a rustic, back-to-basics experience. The pace slows down, and your senses come alive again. It's the perfect place to unwind, explore, and remember how to live simply and joyfully.

The space
Secluded A-frame style wood cabin, purpose built for 'off-grid' getaways & retreats from stressed lifestyles. Natural & solar lighting and shower, surrounded by nature, peace and quiet, delicious local well water, and no wifi or television - no stress. A complete change of pace!

Situated on a working eco farm, certified GOLD by EcoTourism Ireland & ratified by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council. We have a variety of permaculture gardens, animals, orchards & pastures. Situated beneath an oak tree and on the edge of ancient native Irish woodlands, it is a peaceful 'retreat in the woods.'

It's a cozy cabin ideal for 2 people, sleeping up to 4.
Fully furnished with a queen bed plus lounge space including 2 single futons/chairs, which can become single beds for additional people or small children. Though we can accommodate 4 people, the indoor space would be quite small to share between 4 adults.

We also have certain activities selectively available for guests: Yoga, pilates, mindful meditation , nature therapy walks. These activities must be arranged beforehand and depend on availability. Extra fees apply. Please ring us to arrange.

Great space for a couple to enjoy, a writer to work, a shaman to journey, an individual who wants peace and rest, or a family who wants to have some relaxed old-fashioned fun. Very private, no internet or electricity, perfect for a total getaway or retreat!

Includes newly built outdoor washing area, plus your own composting toilet next to the cabin. Gas heater in bedroom, candles, solar powered lighting.

The ancient indigenous woodlands surrounding the cabin hold many wonders, certain types of rare conglomerate rocks, as well as deer, foxes, hedgehogs and many native species of tree, flower and herb.

A magical place!

Derrymore, Drummin Gort, Co, Galway, Ireland

Crann Óg Eco Farm is well situated for excursions to the Burren National Park, the Cliffs of Moher, the Wild Atlantic Way, Coole Park, Kilmacduagh Monastery and Thoor Ballyle, former home of W.B. Yeats.

Crann Óg Eco Farm is nestled between two native Irish woodlands and a stones throw from the mysterious Gort river, which disappears underground and re-appears seven times on it's way to Dunguaire Castle at Kinvarra. There are several lakes nearby, woodlands, rivers, and wonderful places to walk and cycle straight from the farm. (We can refer you to local bicycle rentals if you are interested and in need!) The lovely beach town of Kinvara is 25 min drive away.

We are 9km from the town of Gort and a 45 minutes drive away from Galway city and the town of Ennis.

The ancient monastic site of Kilmacduagh is only a 20min drive here.
