This is a fully equipped one bedroom garden level space where the Realtor/owner occupies the upper portion of the house. The garden level has it's own private entrance. The property is located in a country neighborhood of nice homes and horse farms. It's a scenic 5 minute drive to exciting downtown Saratoga Springs and Skidmore College. It's located within a 15 minute walk to Saratoga Polo and a 10 minute drive to SPAC. Your host is very open minded and all guests are welcome.

The space

This is the renovated basement level of the house with it's own private entry. The floor to ceiling height is 6'6" and very comfortable someone under 5'10", while manageable for those who are taller and use to ducking through doorways. The apartment offers a clean, comfortable, private and inexpensive place to stay while visiting Saratoga Springs. Everyone loves the quiet and privacy they experience while still having the security of the owner living on premises.

Guest access

The guests have shared use of the yard, screened gazebo, patio with a picnic and barbecue area.

Interaction with guests

This is a private space, separate from the main living area of the home, allowing for you to be as private or as social as you like. I live in and work from the premises, so I am available if you need assistance during your stay.

Other things to note

I have a bicycle and a kayak that you are welcome to use during your stay.

In lieu of a stove the kitchenette is equipped with a combined toaster/convection oven/broiler plus two an inductive cooking burners with all the essential cooking utensils.

A long term leased stay is available.

Jeffery was a very accommodating host with our fluctuating arrival time. The basement apartment is remodeled very well. The ceilings are quite low. If you are taller than 5’10” it will be difficult to navigate with out ducking your head. There is a nice gas fireplace and great treats left by Jeffery in the kitchen. The overall feel of the bed, bathroom and linens is very much like a hotel.

Jeffrey's garden apartment was great for a last minute getaway with my girlfriend. The space is very cozy and the bed is very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again! Jeffrey is a great host.

The apartment is cozy and clean with everything you could want for a night or an extended stay. Jeffrey made sure he was there to welcome me when I arrived. I had my own entry so I felt safe being there on my own. I'll definitely be back for another visit!

Jeffrey is the perfect host, and the apartment is ideal. It's clean (almost brand new), with a fully equipped kitchen, including some very thoughtful snacks and supplies. The bed was super comfortable. There is a separate entrance through the garage, so the apartment feels (and is) very private. We loved the location, but be aware it is not quite walkable to downtown. Great accommodations and perfect stay! Thanks!

Very clean and spacious apartment a short drive from the town centre. Very well equipped and well worth staying in if in the area. Would have liked to have stayed longer but our time in the USA from the Uk is limited and lots we want to see.

I'm currently a self employed owner of a small real estate brokerage office in Saratoga Springs, NY. I have been licensed by the State of New York to conduct real estate transactions since 1982.

Prior to my real estate endeavor, I obtained a degree in hotel management. For 11 years I worked in hotels and restaurants pursuing a career in the hospitality industry.

I have spent all of my professional life providing a service to my customers and clients, living by the motto " Do unto others as you would want them to do unto you" .

My primary residence, where I was born and raised, is in Saratoga Springs, NY. I'm an 8th generation Saratogian on my mother's side of the family and a 6th generation Saratogian on my father's side of the family. As my mother would always say " we are dyed in the wool Saratogians".

Since 2003, my secondary residence has been in the State of Florida, where I first had an apartment in downtown Hollywood, FL and then I later purchased my current townhome in Ft. Lauderdale. Since 1994 I have been renting rooms in both of my homes to either vacationers or those who were working in the community.

My great grandparents owned a small Inn, located on Loughberry Lake, Saratoga Springs and the idea of making a comfortable home to invite others in to enjoy was born into my blood. I guess it was meant for me to continue on that same path.

Because of my business experience as a Realtor, in 2017 the regional marketing manager from Toronto airbnb found me through his research. He then contacted me and flew in for an appointment to discuss the possibility of us working together, with the idea of me being a Realtor liaison for airbnb hosts and their guests. He and I actually had our 2 hour meeting in this Garden Apartment. Since I have also had a great deal of experience renting my own apartments to vacationers, as well as short and long term tenants, I then decided to try airbnb first with my own apartment to determine how I can offer this service to my real estate clients.

My home and apartment are modest accommodations that are clean, comfortable and of good value to Saratoga Springs visitors .
