We, Joe & Agnes & family restored our Farmhouse in 1990 keeping traditional farmhouse characteristics (stone fireplace, log & peat fires, slate floors, ceiling beams & stone walls). Hillcrest Farmhouse - (South Wing) is perfect for 2 to 7 adults or families. This tranquil setting allows you to take time to Think, Walk, Read and enjoy total Relaxation.

The space
Hello Guests,

If you are looking to get away from hustle and bustle of life, then this is the place for you. Hillcrest Farmhouse is nestled in the rocky hillside (Bioran) with spectacular views over Dunmanus Bay & Ahakista Harbour.

Though the majority of our customers down through the years are 'return guests', we are excited now about updating our Airbnb site, and looking forward to welcoming new guests to experience all that is on offer in Hillcrest Farm and the Wild Atlantic Way.

Hillcrest Farmhouse has been in our family for the past six generations. We received the Georgina Campbell Award for ‘The Farmhouse of the Year 2018’. This, in addition to many awards received over the years, since its renovation in 1990, is a great acknowledgement of our hard but enjoyable work, which involved restoring our beautiful farmhouse, keeping its traditional farmhouse characteristics, to the wonderful charm that it is today.

Hillcrest Farmhouse is the ‘South wing’ of the entire building. It consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 are en-suite with shower and toilet, and 1 bedroom with toilet. All rooms have spectacular sea, mountain and garden views.
Fully equipped traditional farmhouse style kitchen with dining. Utility room with washer/dryer. Ground floor bathroom with bath/shower.
A most impressive large sitting cum dining room with antique furniture, and beautiful views over Dunmanus Bay. Large stone fireplace. Basket of peat/logs supplied. Thick stone walls with traditional wall lighting. Slate floors and open ceiling beams. Free Wi-fi, TV. DVD player. Many books to read, games provided for play. All of this made extra cosy with very comfortable lounge seating and rugs by the fire.

Private patio with outdoor dining, seating and bbq, where you will enjoy the most spectacular views of the harbour and the many yachts and boats that anchor there. Large mature garden with old pine trees and many shrubs. Garden seating and swings for children. Take time here to experience the morning sunrise, hear the birds singing and watch the many wild rabbits play close by. Quiet peaceful neighbourhood. Large private car park. Beautiful stone walls built by Joe surround the property.

On arrival to Hillcrest Farm, you will be greeted and welcomed with homemade scones, homemade jam and tea/coffee. We are happy to provide advice on your itinerary during your stay. I have a book with local information, tours and places of interest.
We (Host) live on the East Wing of the building. This is totally separate from the South Wing. We are available to help you with any information or requirements during your stay.

Short or long rentals are possible for small or large groups.

Feel free to pet our cats. You may also visit our hens which provide us with free range eggs daily. Our cattle roam in the fields which you will see close by.

The ‘Sheep’s Head Way’ walking trail passes by our house. This trail gained the European Eden Award of Excellence recently. It is a 200 km walking route around the unspoilt Sheep’s Head Peninsula. Cycling route is also adjacent to Hillcrest Farm.
