Wayne’s place is the cutest! You can tell from the second you walk in that he’s put time and effort into making his house a home (including building it from the ground up!) This home is about 20-25 minutes drive from Bar Harbor that weaves right next to Acadia. It’s surrounded by jaw dropping views of the park. Wayne graciously opens his home to you - sharing his kitchen - but also respects your privacy and gives you the entire second floor. He is a retired park ranger and his home is beautifully designed with all his awards speckled throughout. He gave us tips of what not to miss and let us play with his two elder dogs. We will definitely be back next season.

Wayne's home is immaculate and while he is an excellent host that allows you use of his amenities, your living space is very private and comfortable. This is a great place to enjoy the park from, an easy drive to Bar Harbor, and overall a very comfortable location! Would definitely recommend - we had a great trip!

Wayne's place is beautiful. Lots of space, good amenities, and very clean. Wayne is a fantastic host. He was very welcoming and we enjoyed a wonderful New England shore dinner at his place, where he taught us how to properly eat delicious, fresh lobster. An overall excellent experience. Highly recommend staying here!

Wayne and his canine companions were great hosts. They welcomed the two of us and our 2 small dogs, and gave us advice about restaurants, car issues and a medical issue. His home is beautiful.

This is such a wonderful and beautiful place. It's very clean and everything is very new. We had a wonderful 2 days of stay. Wayne provided a few local tips about restaurant. I will definitely recommend this place if anybody is visiting Acadia national park. Its a few miles away from the west side of the park. Wayne is a great host and very friendly and hospitable.

Wayne was a fantastic host! Super friendly and provided a beautiful (and spotless!) home. His 2 very sweet dogs were an added bonus. The house was easy to find--beautiful, scenic drive from Bar Harbor to his home in Southwest Harbor past the stunning Echo Lake. Close to Acadia's Western hiking trails, or about 25 minutes to the main trails on the Eastern side.
