If the Blue Ridge Mountains are calling you, this delightful cottage might provide the perfect answer. It is a conveniently located house in the heart of the mountains only a few minutes from shopping, dining and attractions in Boone/Blowing Rock. It offers privacy in a quiet neighborhood. This home is calling you if you’re looking for a fun mountain getaway, to visit an ASU student, an ASU football weekend, fall activities and hiking, a friend reunion, quick business trip, or a family vacation.

The space
This quaint cottage offers a cozy getaway complete with a kitchen and small dining area, two living areas, 2 full bedrooms with closets, laundry room, and two decks. The Master bedroom suite features a queen bed and full bathroom with tile shower. The multipurpose room off the living room quickly converts if needed into a third bedroom by pulling down the Murphy bed from the wall and then closing off the room from the rest of the house with sliding barn doors. It even has its own half bath. The Murphy bed is a queen bed and is really comfortable!

There is a gas bbq grill available for guest use (with caution). Winter need not be a concern since the house has a flat driveway in a neighborhood that gets plowed. In summer, you’ll find that you rarely need to use the air conditioner. Just open the windows and the double French doors and let the mountain breezes blow through.

We are about 10 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and Tweetsie, 15 minutes from Blowing Rock, 5 minutes from Downtown Boone, and 35 minutes from Banner Elk.

There is plenty to see and explore in the High Country, or you can just relax and enjoy this tucked away house on the end of a quiet, dead-end street adjacent to an attractive wooded strip with a creek. Being the last house on the street, there is no passing traffic. The house is less than a mile from campus and the commercial area. It’s perfect when you come to root for the Appalachian State Mountaineers, visit your student, hike in the Blue Ridge Mountains, or explore this scenic area.

Basic cooking essentials and condiments are provided, along with comfy linens and towels, plus free Wi-Fi throughout the house and a "Smart TV" in the living room with Roku application to stream Netflix/Hulu/etc. There is a DVD player as well. We do not provide cable TV.

NO PETS, SMOKING, PARTIES/KEGS, AND ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES ARE ALLOWED.

***Please be aware that we have recently had guests who were disruptive in our little neighborhood. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood. We ask that you be courteous to our neighbors, specifically with after 10pm outside noise and activities. In order for us to continue opening our home to guests, loud voices and drunkenness cannot be allowed.

Thank you for your understanding and if you have any questions or concerns, please ask.We hope you relax and enjoy your stay in our home.

Guest access
The BBQ grill sits under the covered side entrance area. Two decks offer relaxing outdoor enjoyment. The house is also easily accessible in the winter.

Other things to note
Parking is limited to 3 cars. Please park in the driveway, on the gravel, or at the dead end in front of the house.

Coffee and tea are provided for guests.

As noted, the TV has a DVD player and Roku (Smart TV application), but no Cable TV, just the Roku—where you can stream Netflix, Hulu, Amazon TV, etc. if you have personal logins to these options.

Please no parties, illegal substances/actions, or bonfires. It’s a quiet neighborhood, so please respect noise ordinances. The expectation is that you maintain and take care of the house to the highest standards. Please do not damage or destroy walls, decks, appliances, furniture, exterior, or interior property, etc.

If an incident or accident does occur, please contact us immediately so we can appropriately remedy the situation. We want to preserve all the charm of this house and the hard work that goes into protecting it and providing an excellent stay both for you and for future guests.

Please read the house manual upon arrival and contact me with any questions. Thank you for your understanding, and we hope you enjoy your stay!
