Wonderful quiet part of the island complete with a great seafood restaurant only minutes away along with a great spot to watch the sunset at bass harber lighthouse!

Huge thank you to Rachel for guiding us in on our late arrival (11p) to her airbnb apartment. It was pitch black outside and we couldn't see any of the landmarks. On the bright side - I don't think I've ever seen stars like that. The apartment was spacious, clean, safe, first floor (no stairs!), and very comfortable; full kitchen and bath. It was about a 30 minute drive from Bar Harbor. My mother & I loved being able to explore MDI from one end to the other and check out the neighborhoods and houses. Great lunch at Thurston's! Acadia N P is beautiful! I can't wait to visit again! Thank you Rachel!

We stayed 2 nights here. Communication from the Rachel was great leading up to our stay and we had no major hickups with the accommodations. The apartment was very clean, well organized and spacious with a well stocked kitchen and big full bathroom. The couches and bed were comfortable. As stated in the ad, it is on the bottom floor of a 3-story house with an active family living above; we noticed sounds o footsteps and the occasional banging from above, although it wasn't overly obnoxious or loud. Overall our stay was great. The location is on the west side of Mt Desert Island, close to Acadia attractions on the west side, about a 35 minute drive to Bar Harbor which is the main downtown area with dining and shops, about 35 minute drive to Sand Beach which is another main attraction in Acadia. Overall we were happy with the place and the value and with the bottom floor sidenote, we'd recommend it to anyone considering.

Hi - Thanks for the review. Sorry about the noise. We tried to be as quiet as possible and appreciate your understanding. We usually try to stay at another location during our rentals but our girls are starting school this week so we stayed close to home. Hope you had a safe trip home. -Rachel

We wanted for nothing!! I'll admit that I didn't read every amenity that was going to be offered beyond the big stuff: kitchen, wi-fi, etc. When we got there and realized we had a fully stocked kitchen, shampoo, conditioner, books galore, we were impressed. They even had a huge selection of kids books too. We were much closer to Acadia than we thought we'd be too, so that was nice. Rachael was very easy to get a hold of during the process of booking the apartment and answered any question I had. Also, there are ducks in the pond! I'm thankful that this was our first Airbnb experience because it made a very good impression of the whole idea. The cell signal is spotty on the island, so once you leave the wi-fi in the house, know you might not be able to use it again until you get farther out. (We have Verizon) That has nothing to do with how great the house is, but just so you know.

Only 15 min from Acadia and located in a very beautiful, quiet area. Host was very accommodating and willing to work with us. Towels and other necessities were provided. We wanted to stay longer!! All in all, lovely home.
