At first we had a few “hiccups” regarding matters related to check-in, as Thao asked her maid to greet and showed me around her place. The maid could not answer most of my questions such as power/internet connections, laundry services, and household items/supplies, etc. So, I communicated with Thao via Viber and she sorted the issues out quickly. I provided her with some feedback to improve her interactions with future guests, and she was very responsive to my suggestions.
Thereafter, I had an amazing experience staying at Thao’s place. The apartment is new, opposite a small park, and close to the shopping centre. The swimming pool is located on the same floor as Thao’s apartment, to me is a bonus, but maybe not to some, as this can be noisy at time.
Travelling to District 1 was easy as there were lots of options available (taxi, Grab, Uber) and the cost was fairly inexpensive.
I felt very safe while staying at Thao’s place, as security personnel were “over the top” in number. I’m not sure why a building needed 4 security guards standing/walking around the building. I observed that the guards were friendly and helpful.
I was grateful to Thao, letting me to check-out late, as my flight was at 7pm. As mentioned, after the initial stage, things went smoothly. Thao did check-ins with me via phone during stay to ensure I was happy or if I needed any assistance. I told her that I wished that I could meet her in person to know who my host was – to have a complete Airbnb experience – as opposed to stay in a hotel.
Overall, I was happy having chosen to stay at Thao’s place. I will stay at her place again, if return to Vn. I wish her well in her new role as an Airbnb host.
