The space

Come step ‘off the grid’ and onto the land of our Orchard Oasis. Immerse yourself in the nature of the North Shore and enjoy a unique experience staying at our hidden gem.

Our site is located within a private gated community situated at the base of Mt. Ka’ala, Oahu’s tallest mountain. The historic town of Haleiwa is five minutes away and offers a variety of shops and restaurants. Numerous snorkeling, swimming, and surfing beaches are also nearby and easily accessible.

We are off the grid but offer all of the common comforts of home including:

- Electricity generated from solar photovoltaic panels
- Water drawn from a private artesian well and heated with solar panels
- A private bathroom with a compostable toilet flushed with running water
- A private outdoor shower with solar hot water
- A comfortable queen size bed with clean sheets, pillows, blankets, and towels
- An overhead light and electrical outlets to charge phones, computers, etc.
- Access to an outdoor kitchen with dishes, utensils, and refrigerator space
- WiFi

There is a large organic fruit orchard with avocados, mangoes, papayas, bananas, lychee, guava, lilikoi (passion fruit), star fruit, figs, pomegranate, oranges, tangerines, and more. When in season, these are all available to be picked and enjoyed by guests.

Wake up to the sounds of birds and join them in the orchard in search of ripe fruit or fresh flowers. Then in the outdoor kitchen, blend a fresh smoothie, talk with other guests, and plan your afternoon adventures.

On the weekends you can purchase fresh vegetables from the certified organic vegetable farm just down the road.

A bon fire pit and Chilean style mud oven are in the orchard and available for guests to use as well.

We also offer surfer lessons, surf board rentals, handmade local jewelry, and tasty treats. If interested, just ask!

Other rental units are also available on the property and share the orchard, kitchen, and fire pit. However, each unit has its own private bathroom and shower and privacy is maintained by the lush landscaping.

We stayed in the Hobbit Hut. It was a decent size for two of us. It was nice, clean and peaceful. The outhouse was clean. We had fresh eggs every morning. Variety of fruits were in the orchard for you to pick. Casey & Shae are wonderful host. We love the view from their land and I would recommend my friends to their awesome place.

This place is like a dream, if you truly want to disconnect and recharge you need to come here. It's tucked away with privacy down a dirt road, but anything you could possibly need is right around the corner. Its peaceful, relaxing, and breathtaking views are all around you. Shea and Casey are wonderful hosts and very accommodating to your needs. We absolutely love the way of life here and can't thank Shea and Casey enough for opening up this listing to share the experience with others. Mahalo nui loa!

Interesting place, away from the busy Honolulu. I was not aware that the toilet was compostable only. Yikes! We met some great people that madethe experience so nice. Would consider staying again.

I booked this trip for my parents' 25th anniversary. This was their feedback: An amazing place to begin our Hawaiian trip! Gave us that "island experience." It could use a little sprucing up but overall, great stay. The bed is very comfortable and the outside shower is freeing! I would suggest trying to arrive during the daylight as we had trouble locating the hut after a bad travel experience and missing it in the dark. But the hosts were very helpful and were happy to accommodate.

This is our honest opinion. The photos are about 5 yrs old. The area surrounding the accommodations are neglected. The kitchen is close to unhealthy and disgusting. There are eggs for breakfast. Cook yourself. Nothing else. No juice. No coffee, nothing. Coffee pluger broken.Fruit trees almost bare. Smoothies - NOT. Never saw the hosts. Needs clean up desperately. Cannot recommend to people who are used to a certain standard of quality. A shame as it has enormous potential

What a great location! So calm and peaceful, awesome view from the deck too. This was the perfect spot for our North Shore stay. Cute little geckos are all over the island and here's no exception. Had fun finding different colored ones all over! If you want to get away from the typical hotel, this is the place!
